At lower end, I think having iGPU is more essential. More consumers interested in simple and low cost package.
So while AMD has more power on CPU side, comparing Intel (i3) to AMD APU 3200G/3400G products makes more sense imo.

I'd rather want to see Zen 2 APU from AMD. That combines CPU and GPU performance on a single package.

Competition on all of the price segments - isn't that wonderful?

Yeah. Gamers shouldn't anymore buy new 4-core CPUs. If you aren't a gamer, iGPU might easily be enough.

I built 2 PCs with AMD 2200G/3200G APU in them for my family. And 2200G handles casual gaming nicely for 1080p resolution.
Games like Minecraft, Human: Fall Flat and similar games runs without issues with stable frames.

Just feels good to be able to built such PC rig for $300.

Intel been catching up with iGPU performance lately, looking forward to see how it performs and if price is competitive against AMD parts (APU + Mobo).

It's funny to see an i7 7700k so close in performance to what me and I think most here now would consider to be low end now even though it was 400-450$ processor not too long ago.

Its funny to see 7700k at R3 and i3 level of performance. It was really worth that 400$. :D

Problem is, is still sold for $350 and binned chips were sold at $800+.......

And inherent security flaws also come at no extra charge.

Still not sure how someone would want to try their luck so soon with Intel after their horrible track record on security.

    "not long ago"
Soon it's 3.5 years ago, and the prize was ~350$ ?

Still 7700k is faster in everything VS Ryzen 3300/3100 other than Cinebench. Cinebench must be very important for 4 core buyers in 2020. :D

Amazing how you managed to get your hands on a Ryzen 3300x before the rest of us!
Because you seem to have some sort of first-hand experience, otherwise you wouldn't really make such bold claims about this, right?

Seriously, if all you're going to do is just try to talk nonsense based on nothing but your own feelings, then you're really not contributing to the discussion.

Besides, if you want to play it that way, I can do it too: The 3300X is going to perform much better than the 7700k in damn-near all games.
Thing is, while data suggests this is actually the case, I'm making the above statement based on just one purely subjective metric: I believe I'm right.

Difference is I'm not implying or pretending that my statement is somehow factual, so please spare us the posturing.

What about 7600k, cpu is left to do office work. To think it was priced to compete with ryzen 1600, now thats next level of aging bad.

I think anyone who bought a non HT CPU when 6xxx Intels came out only has themselves to blame. I had a i5 2500k back in the day because more threads weren't really needed. But when 6700k came out, anyone who bought the 6600 and then 7600 made a mistake. Those CPUs are fine but then can struggle in some games, whereas the 8 threaded equivalents are chugging along nicely.

And to be fair, the 1600 itself isn't all that in games. It has the threads but on the other hand terrible IPC. In general, the 7600 outperforms it in games

So these Intel chips are more expensive, and you have to buy a new motherboard? Value has left the building.

I have Ryzen 3600 and Ryzen 3900x, and these cpu's is slower than 7700k with 4000mhz memory in most games,
except some games that uses 12 threads. 3300x is not faster than 3900x, that is for shure ;)

PS: "No one" is using 7700k @ stock and 2133mhz memory.

Worst choise of games that is. I mean all those are very singlethreaded. Im sure many newer like Battlefield, Doom, Division, Tomb Raider would go favor a ryzen 1600.
