    The main reason why this thread is created is having a choice to choose what to use.

    Which HDMI audio formats do NVIDIA GPUs support?

    Updated 05/18/2020 03:09 PM (Source: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2796/~/which-hdmi-audio-formats-do-nvidia-gpus-support? )

    These are the default supported sounds for Nvidia GPU's.

    They don't have an app to controll things, things are done on the Tv or Amplifier.

    This is a modded tdriver , it supports dolby digital. :)
    It is mainly used for stereo devices like headphones or tv's or maybe a amplifier which is setup to use stereo.

    Installation

    Reboot with driver signatures disabled.
    (Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and click the Restart button. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and click the Restart button. When your computer restarts you'll see a list of options. Press 7 on your keyboard to select Disable driver signature enforcement.)

    turn on sideloading for apps in developer section in windows Update and securuty / for developer.

    Install dotnet_appx froml https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uzlWeU5TQ1f4HhKcB1WyB3URRcFgX7eS/view?usp=sharing Install as admin (otherwise you will get errors).

    Install driver from device manager. ( right click device and click Update Driver Software. Choose Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Have Disk > Browse > navigate to driver folder and choose open.

    The driver should now have been installed and working.
    go to advanced sound options and set it to dolby digital and press test!

    Optional you can install the Dolby Home Theatre V4 app (which is also included in the 7zip file).

    what did it need modding for?

    bit unusual, hd audio drivers have their own versioning scheme but this one uses the display driver versioning.

    445-450.xx = 1.3.38.26
    This = 1.3.38.28

    @HeavyHemi worth a try?

    No idea why the version is like that. most driver updaters list it, otherwise i wouldnt have found it. Its from windows update.

    It needed modding for adding dolby digital and dolby home theatre. the default driver doesnt have those options.

    well the nvhda64v is 1.3.38.28 while the 32v one is 1.3.38.26, might have a fix for the sleep issue / no sound bug some have had.

    I'm not seeing much activity in the dolby app on my system

    Yeah, changed that to on, reinstalled driver and app, still nothing.

    The dolby plugins are all installed for the driver, the output device dolby tab can control the app status and everything, just no graph activity.

    Might be the hardware.

    Thanks for trying , i honestly dont know why. the app should reflect the dolby settings from the nvidia driver.

    Oh, they do,
    but i don't hear any difference, the receiver still says pcm and the graph isn't animating

    Also, the output format is missing Dolby Digital in the advanced tab, which i suspect might have some part in it.

    @WhiteLightning : thanks for the modded driver, I tried it out of curiosity and I don't hear a change in sound when playing with various presets within Dolby Home Theatre and the graph isn't animating :(

    Probably because I'm using the DisplayPort on my Dell U2717D and I can't change the sample rate and the bit depth also, I'm not sure:
