forgot how much ghosting was introduced by ray traced indirect lightning in Control, that's a bit jarring, the other ray tracing option looks nice tho.
So I am jealous ,how the hell you using DLSS 2.0 on this Control game. WTF are you guys talking about, there is no DLSS 2.0 for Control yet on PC EPIC store ,nor can you actually buy the expansions. DLSS 2.0 offers 3 image quality modes (Quality, Balanced, Performance) that control the rendering resolution
As I understand it, to get DLSS 2.0 with Control: 1) You must have the latest game patch 2) You must have the latest nVidia driver 3) DLSS 2.0 is automatic and the game gives you 2 render resolution options. 1 is "Performance" 2 is "Quality" Its up to the game developer how they do their options for DLSS 2.0 in-game. DLSS 2.0 is not setup in the nVidia control panel.
well , the game does offer 3 rendering resolutions in DLSS options , i remember there was only 2 options before yesterday's patch
OK I do not mind being wrong but the 3 rendering options do not make sense.I am looking for (Quality, Balanced, Performance) Like in other DLSS 2.0 game I own.Guess I have to read the Nvidia thing again.
In control, the Quality options are the resolutions you define as source for DLSS, it mgith also be the case in other DLSS 2.0 enabled games but it's happening under the hood
we should get the DLCs today ( it's 26th already ) and with them out DLSS 2 should be out without a doubt
I have read the Nvidia slide today and read the fine print.I was wrong even though Nvidia slides show quality mode setting. Nvidia tricked me again and performance is terrible still on this game but like anything you can always turn down settings.I loved this game when released. EDIT: I tried the game at 4K with 2560x1440 DLSS and Ray tracing medium. The game is perfectly playable.
What graphics card do you have? DLSS is impressive for me on my 2070 Super. Running RT on high at 4k with DLSS at 1080p and when compared to the old iteration, the difference is night and day.
Just a RTX 2080 on Freesync Monitor and a G-sync Monitor. perfectly playable meaning 40FPS-60FPS which sounds horrible but not that bad on this game. The DLSS 2.0 has improved the quality of the visuals immensely and that shimmer on objects when moving is now gone.Only tiny bit of shimmer when moving remains on fences, small objects now gone completely. It's kinda surprising that Epic decided to closely support 3 specific studios, especially when non of them is using Epic's UE. I know that Epic supports some UE based games, but this is new...
those studios needs a strong publisher that doesn't do consoles exclusives PC sales are always a great + for any studio since the majority of the sales goes to the devs
So yesterday the control dlc came out and it was also supposed to update the game with dlss 2.0 but when I loaded it up my performance was identical to dlss 1.0. there also was only an option for dlss on or off unlike MechWarrior 5.. Then I installed MechWarrior 5 which was also patched yesterday to add dlss 2.0 and that game did have the 3 mode selections. It also got a massive performance boost. Anyone else experience Control not having any kind of performance bump? Lastly in GeForce experience under game settings it showed dlss 2 performance, balance and quality options for control but they changed nothing in the actual game.
I don't see any option to switch between balanced, performance and quality either. It's the exact same settings as before. Although I feel as if that DLSS has improved and there's less artifacts. Could very well just be me.
It looks the same to me. I'm playing on a 65 inch LG OLED and I still saw the same the of issues and had to render at 1080p and output at 4k. Don't get me wrong it looks good but it looked good before and I'm getting the exact same frame rate numbers as I was before. I thought with the "huge" performance boost of dlss 2.0 that it would allow me to render at 1440p and then upscale that to 4k. I understand Control pushes the limits and is really for the next gen of rtx but the way nVidia spoke about dlss 2.0 I thought I'd get 60fps from 1440p using dlss to upscale to 4k
I'm not talking about performance gains, I'm talking about improvements to image quality such as less artifacts on turbine blades and things like that. The performance is pretty much exactly the same for me as well.
No I know you are. I was talking about both. Like I still see artifacts in the same places I did before. They might be more obvious because of display size. I also notice image quality is the same as it was before. I took some screenshots of up close objects and video (external uncompressed capture on a 2nd pc) and compared them... I'm a remedy freak lol. I absolutely LOVE this game but I'm just gonna wait for big Navi or the 3080ti
I think that DLSS 2.0 Nvidia did an awesome job in this game and the DLSS 2.0 has reduced almost all problems related to shimmering blurry objects while moving, especially small objects and things like broom handles sticks, grates ,fences not perfect but very acceptable. Control Dlss 2 0 Trying To Use A Controller I Suck and DLSS 2.0 is not a problem.
