Rx570 upgrade

I currently own a Rx 570 4gb and an intel i3 8100. I am looking to upgrade my gpu sometime this year but don't what to choose. My bugdet is around 250-300 dollars.

What resolution and frequency is your monitor? Also, what type of games do you play?

What country are you located in? $300 would go farther in the USA then in most of the rest of the world (at least related to computer parts).

 

GTX 1660 Super...add a tad more money and get RX 5700 or RTX 2060

I would say RX 5600 XT But you can get 5700 for about the same if you shop around.

 

His CPU is no problem, right?

Yea, I suggest you stick with your current card if you will be sticking with your current CPU.

 

that i3 is about the same as i5-7600...

 

How hard do you think his 570 is holding him back?

 

I didn't even mention his CPU............ Besides we need to find out what the games are that he/she plays and the settings/resolution they play at. If the budget is <$300 they won't be able to upgrade both and until more information is known it isn't possible to say whether the CPU or GPU should be most important item to upgrade.

Anyways, we don't know what he plays/wants to play and at what resolution.

If I was planning on upgrading that CPU, then sure, a GPU upgrade would make a lot of sense. Next-gen consoles will have an effect on PC requirements...

 

let's put it another way....OP only has $300 so he has two choices

Choice number 1 - upgrade his I3 to a six core i5 keep 570

Choice number 2 - upgrade his 570 to a 1660 super or rx5600xt keep the quad core

now which one of these choices would be the best upgrade for his gaming experience?
please remember OP "ONLY HAS $300"......We all know an upgrade to 8700k/2080ti would be better.

 

Keep cpu for now , updage gpu to a 5600xt ,

yes cpu will be bottleneck. But turn on chill and you can keep fps on refresh rate with out an issue. Down te line upgrade the cpu at some point . With chill on you can minimize allot the bottleneck problem if you have any.

Btw used market is also the way to go, a vega 56 is cheap atm

b350 board will be less then 50. R5 1600 will be around 50 so you can have a really nice system with cheap used parts.

Hey. I don't mean upgrade them both for 300 dollars. I mean which I should I upgrade first. What I mostly play is rust and Alex legends at low-ish settings (like pretty much medium)
I have a 1080p 60hz monitor.
