Grab for free: Sims 4 Standard Edition is free on Origin

Not the first time they give this game for free. I guess they want people to buy the DLCs.

 

That's always like that with games given away that have DLCs, you're 100% spot on. Some games are better without the expansions, some are just good as they are.

 

Had it pirated last week with all DLC, got rid if of it again after 15 minutes.

 

The latter of which is becoming increasingly rare.

They gave this one for free some time ago. It is DLC ridden.

 

IMO, The Sims 4 was a giant step backwards for the series. They removed the expansive open world of The Sims 3 and put loading screens everywhere (you can't even visit a next-door neighbor without a loading screen). They also removed a ton of content that were in the base game of the previous title, including such basic things as a toddler life stage and pools (they later patched them in after the outcry). The graphics, CAS and building were improved but they were not nearly enough to make up for its shortcomings.

I'm hoping they get back on track with The Sims 5 (assuming they make it). TS3 needs a true successor.

Already had it free. I only like to use these Sims games to build houses. I hate the actual gameplay with a passion. Not my thing. The house building leaves a lot to be desired too but it's far easier to monkey around with than proper architecture/landscaping software is.

 

Yeah, I misunderstood that also. I guess that they meant that if you are in the US you have to use the VPN. I guess it is only free for the rest of the world, but not for Americans. Here in the US it is either $40 or you have to join their monthly subscription thing.

 

I'll get it, and probably never play it.

 

Exactly what happened to me. I thought the missus would be interested but no.

 

I am the rest of the world, and didn't had it free either. With VPN the same. And According to IsThereAnyDeal it was free last year, not now.

It's crazy that every single DLC costs 40 bucks, and there is a ton of them. I've never paid this much for a single game, nor I'll pay for a single DLC.
That's why I hate all the Warhammer games as well: the base game literally contains the basic things only, you have to buy a lot of DLCs just to get all fractions and maps and content.
