Up-to April 1st (not a joke) – in anticipation of Half Life: Alyx, the upcoming virtual reality first-person shooter you can download and play all Half-Life games.... Grab for free: All Half Life games
Just finished replaying the whole half life series. It's amazing how well the source engine games have stood up even 15 years on. I also had completely forgotten that they name dropped aperture science into hl2:2
Is there anyone left in the world who uses Steam and doesn't have all Half-Life games already ? Absolutely all the people in my friends list have them, no exceptions. (Talking about HL games, not Valve products in general... CS, TF, Portal(s), L4D, Dota, DoD ... might or might not be present in people's lists)
Yeah, me... since I somehow fked up and forgot about my first steam account, and can't claim it anymore. I played the games, but can't add them to my 2nd account (which too is over 10 years old by now).
*Raises hand* Not particularly my type of game, but I have been curious about Half-Life. No way I would be able to play them much in two months.
Awesome. Now I can add OpFor and Blueshift to my digital library. Edit I see they don't actually add them to the library forever
It seems Valve is going all-in. The least we can do is shell out the hundreds of dollars for a VR headset so there can be more VR exclusives.
I'm in the same situ. I forgot my password and needed to play Dirt2 that came free with a gfx card. Steam must have put me on ignore or something, they didnt respond. I created a new Steam account and have used that since, forgoing all my Half Life games and quite a lot more.
They don't need to do this to sell Episode 3. They're trying to create hype for Alyx, knowing that many people are on the fence about it.
That is a consequence of their bigger plan. To explain it another way, if it is NOT part of their plan, it would be the first time in the history of intelligent ideas, gone to waste.
Dont own a single one, at all I have half-life on disc someplace, it was good but game but i dont see why it has such huge following.. then again I just not fan of FPS game
And many will remain on the fence, since VR is simply not for them. It's not for me, and never will be. I like my brain so...yeah (not going into specifics, do your own research). less than 1% of steam users have VR. So it won't sell a massive amount anyway.
I have steam, and most of the HL games, but...when I click on the games I dont have, I get "download steam"
Plenty that I don't own, EP1, EP2, Blue shift, opposing force, team fortress.. they are good games but not that great. I don't like the floating camera feel and the level design behind it which is that you shouldn't really miss anything on your first playthrough. I much prefer games like Thief, Deus Ex and System Shock instead.
