Got a copy of 1809 version myself ... I'm going to finally switch over this fall from Win7. Finally going to take the leap but I'm going LTSC.

Too bad we can't run Forza 7 and Horizon 4 on 1607.

A correction to this statement, Enterprise24.

Only the Home & Professional editions of Win10 v1607 had support until EOL on April 2018 as noted on this MS support lifecycle page. The Enterprise (non-ltsb) & Education versions of 1607 received additional 1 year support until EOL on April 2019 as noted on this MS support lifecycle page.

Also, MS has allowed updates for 1607 to continue specifically on Intel Atom "Cloverview" or "Clover Trail"
devices until January 2023 as noted in this MS blog.

Would be nice if AMD would support 1607 with RIS...

Let's compare LTSB to it's spiritual predecessor (Windows 7). Shall we ?
Test system remain the same including Nvidia driver. Windows 7 is professional edition clean installed with lastest update.

    Side by side comparison.

I am not sure what is going wrong with Windows 7 1% low and 0.1% low in some games.

    Thanks for the tests!

It is quite interesting that while the averages are similar, the 1.0% and 0.1% lows are in some cases so much lower that they could impact gameplay.

In my opinion, while I dont like the looks of windows 8.1 I found it to be a more optimized version of windows 7.
If you have the time and the patiance it would be interesting to do a comparison of win 8.1 and win 10 ltsb.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is alot better in DX12 than DX11 though. It had also been interesting to see some Vulkan benchmarks for DOOM and Wolfenstein, Vulkan is also supposed to be better on Windows 10.

@maur0 : I hope this version is slimmed only and no additional gimmicks included?
Can you provide a changelog of what you did in there? What is removed, added or "customized"?
From experience I can tell you if you forcefully remove system components it may give you trouble in the future, because some updates wont install if the needed component is not available, probably resulting in a Windows which is not able to update itself anymore.

ISO size of 2,53GB ... this sounds like a benchmark OS or sth., but not like an OS you may use for everydays tasks.
I will download when I arrive at home.

Btw.: If you put anything related to activators in there, I would remove the links VERY FAST! ;)
    (Just saying ...)

..... but FOR which purpose to be the best choice?

    -gaming/single user
    -business (LTSB)
    -education (focusing on specific tools)

    ??????? ;)

    -------------------------------
Yep, any windows version suits WELL for gaming[according to thread replies/posts] if hard ware meets requirements for "that" particular purpose and also "maintaining" those hardware(drivers, firm wares,.....)
