    Leave OS at default state after erase-formal and cmos-reset bios@stock and everything is gonna be OK for the beginning. Microsoft has spoken.!

    And most importantly...install with defaults! DO NOT be flipping any of those switches off during install! Those are just for internal testing!!!1 ;)

    For me that's usually what happens with graphics drivers tbh. But yeah, I treat my LTSC the same.

    Just clean out the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" folder...and watch the slow crap I was talking about a while ago, then get it from catalog.update.microsoft and install manually? I always do, because of that same fail, redownload, retry, fail.... scenario.

    The joke is almost on point! :D
    There is no Windows 9 because some lazy developers back then asked for a string to identify the correct OS version, back then with Windows 95 and 98. But because both start with the string "Windows 9", it would have lead to issues probably, so they skipped it.

    I'm not quite sure what to look for in the dism log... it's the one located here correct?

    C:\Windows\Logs\DISM

    I reset windows updates... tried installing the update a 5th time and fails to install, I'm guessing it doesn't like my pc, it's kinda funny, this is a new install of 1909 just last week.

    Have you tried uninstalling the previous CU, rebooting and trying to install it again?

    I have more than enough PCs on-hand to not have any reservations about leaving one or two of them with Windows 7, and just riding-out the EOL shockwave. I need a solid UnrealEd rig, and that software doesn't seem to like any of my Win 10 platforms all that much.

    The only ongoing issue I have regarding Windows 10 have been creepy audio-related issues; across multiple PCs, including those with, and without, a discrete sound card. It may well be unfair to lay that problem on the OS, but I've made no progress on resolving the issue. And, believe me, I've tried.

    It's all written and described in their own knowledge base, available to the public. RTFM! :D

    Found this:
    Code:
    HRESULT = 0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND
    It seems you need another update before installing this one. Sadly I dont know where to look for dependencies. :(
    (btw.: This can happen if you remove critical parts of the OS ... did you "customize" your Windows installation in any way by removing components?)
