  1. That 10 year plan is laughable

I rather like to see a 5 years plan, more affordable prices for CPUs without security holes.
    Oh, wait, that's AMD.

achieving a smaller tech and being able to sell it (because of ISO requirements and others) are two different things, in reality it takes 1-1,5 year to validate a FAB before you're even allowed to sell products, I don't know of any big companies which accepts "no quality insurance" dies, not sure it would be even legal
anyways just to say what you already know, it's completely unrealistic

    @DmitryKo
still wont mean that ppl are willing to pay the premium anymore.
and by that time, more will switch from lower res to 1440/2160 and the difference between the 2 brands will get less.
im done giving more money to intel at same/less compared to what amd has.
what do i get for 200$ from intel cpu wise? yeah...

Sure, I already said that Comet Lake S offers nothing interesting for the DIY enthusiast - but at least there will be price parity for the same number of cores.

Zen 3 is coming by end of 2020 with improved IPC and frequencies, but Rocket Lake S with similar improvements is expected by Summer 2021.
So AMD don't have to pack more cores to stay competitive on the desktop.

HEDT and server processors are different though, and the new Socket sTRX4 with a total of 88 PCIe lanes most likely means additional cores for Epic Milan (64/128, and up to 96/192??).

Intel's plans are laughable at best. Their 10nm has been late and they are not even trying to leap into 7nm. They are playing a catch up game with AMD. TSMC is already ready with 5 nm.... Intel is all talk and no die

So, anyone else have any ideas on how they are overcoming the quantum tunneling issues inherent below 4nm? Nanosheet and nanowire FET's? Cobalt and Ruthenium inteconnects in place of copper? Anything to contribute besides another intel vs. Amd debate..........yes, we get it, you are computer nerds and you have a preference. There, i said it.

i see a GIF in my mind, an arena of fighters ( WWE, BOXING, MUAYTHAI) Fighter 1 is AMD, hitting Fighter 2 INTEL, in a continuous loop as is GIF nature, and INTEL is with a MEH expression, there are two referees, one is TSMC, another is SAMSUNG, and a third REFEREE is outside, unnamed. The audience is varied but cheering and labeled ( CONSUMERS )

i dont mind if ppl take sides. It should just be made by wallet/perf etc, not just by brand/name etc.

the same way im not willing to pay more to get less from intel, the same way im willing to pay more
to get a Nv ard that uses less power/produces less heat than amd, and have no problem switching sides
if that means an improvement over the other one.

Hmmm...amongst other oddities, you might want to explain exactly what 'issues' you're talking about and what you're using your PC for that is affected by these 'issues'?
I'd also ask you if you've heard of any Intel CPU security issues?
