Should be fine if Temps are right.
    Do not cross 75-80deg.

But the extra voltage would kill the card?

Do not cross 1.175v and check the temps.
If it's cool then You can OC it, if not leave it be.

Vega 64 don’t have Hynix mem, you can’t flash a 56 like that.

No, they used older CryEngine ;) (It's cheaper that way IMO)
With our Tweaks it's relevant, we will have good 1440p perf. NP.

    Note:
Wolcen is on newer one and it just Performs Great.
    1600MHz is enough for V.High + AA.

But that about the memory voltage?
I'm afraid of running my Hynix on 1.3v

I've once succesfully flashed a XFX V64 bios and i was able to put my Hynix HBM on 1050mhz.
I'm judt worried if the extra voltage would kill the hbm or make it degrade faster.
So i flashed back the 56 vbios

Ghost warrior just like wolcen is using dx11. I would imagine its cryengine 3?

    Hi guys!

Seems I wasn't really quite done with modding my Vega yet, so I decided to make a custom shroud for it.

    Here's how it looks now:

So to recap it's a Sapphire V64 Nitro+ with a Corsair 280mm AIO strapped on. I think it turned out pretty cool!

Here's a link to a post on how it was done if someone's interested: https://imgur.com/a/UYHlTaW

    Cheers, Dae

I finally tried under-clocking together with UV and with +50% power (VRAM OC to 950-1000mhz with tighter timings using amd memory tweak) and unbelievably I get a bit higher scores on benches when using 1500mhz at P7. As I see it, they really managed to mess up these cards. I never touched 1550mhz with my card with all fans in the case on max, GPUs fan on max and room cooled at 20C. the factory 1620 (or 1622mhz, don't remember) is a myth I guess LOL.

I'm interested did anyone tried removing the backplate on MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 AIR BOOST 8G OC? Are there components connected with paste to it and did you achieve a bit better temps cos I think this thing is trapping some heat.

    thanks

If you want to keep that card for some time, you can change its cooler for something like a Mortheus 2, its a very nice cooler.

If not its a blower card it will be always a bit bad.

You can do 1600mhz but only if the temp on the card lets you

I manage to keep GPU/mem/VRM temps under 60C but the hotspot goes 85-95 depending on load/voltage/freq/room temp. for this I would expect to see 1550mhz+ frequencies on chip, but I don't think I ever did. factory is 1622mhz on the chip which IMO is unachievable on stock cooler in normal room temps.
I would try to remove backplate if anyone can confirm that there aren't any parts connected directly to it for cooling like vrm,mem chips, etc.
    thanks

edit: I don't think It's profitable for me to go into that much cost as to get a proper cooling cos the price are very high around my parts.

Put some thermal pads on the back side between pcb and back plate where vrms are and add a 12cm fan. It will help a lot.
I also removed the stock fans with the plastic that holds them and added 2 14cm ones. Repasted gpu with MX-4 and replaced all vrm thermal pads with better ones.
On a hot summer day with ambient temp over 30c gpu temp goes no more then 60, mem around 63 and hot spot 70 to 75. P7 at 1630mhz/1060v, mem 1100mhz.
On AC:O, timespy and some other games, frequency goes up to 1600mhz.

Yes, on budget is always nice to add only Fans (to blow air onto the GPU, back and front 2x9cm or similar).
You can repaste + add some thermal pads, it's also cheaper DIY GPU Mod.
Or go for some aftermarket Cooler e.g. RAIJINTEK MORPHEUS VEGA

    -> https://www.newegg.com/gray-raijintek-0r10b00083/p/2T3-0007-00005
You can find this at 40-55€ NP on E-Bay, AliExpress or similar...

Those Mods/Tweaks are good for someone that will use Vega in long time period 2-3Yas min.

-> Im not keen to replace my Vega as soon as Big Navi will be avaible, no need to rush.
also is best to have new Monitor, like HDR-600 or 1000 and 120-144Hz :p
For my Gaming - Vega LiQuiD is enough for now.

I'm not in the US. in EU prices are a much bigger problem for hardware, especially where I live. I have no idea how long I would keep this card really. I hope for a long time.

looking here for a vega 56 reference teardown it seems that there is no contact with backplate with anything. maybe msi did it the same, no idea?

I had a msi 56 airboost and converted it to morpheus cooler....as I recall the backplate was completely superficial, it may have had a few thermal pads on it but im pretty sure it was all plastic, the front shroud had a metal base plate that I had to modify to work with the morpheus but that acted as a heat spreader way more than anything that was on the back which is completely plastic if i remember.

all in all the morpheus conversion was not too difficult or expensive if you have some time and a rotary tool like a dremel to modify that front plate, then when you add the new fans it will be significantly quieter than the jet engine blower fan

So ive been wondering what could cause shadow details like that?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare also crashes if i try to set Texture details on High
Does anyone has this same issue?
