    Morning all
Its a new build and stable, the MOBO has the latest Bios and all drivers are up to date.
Everything is on Auto but in all monitoring progs its reporting the RAM is running at 1066 rather than 1600.

Even if i set the RAM to XMP and 3200 it just reboots before the bios and starts back at 1066.
Back to AMD for the first time in a very long time so new to the Bios.
    Any help is much appreciated.
*Ive followed a number of guides trying to set manual values but it hard resets three times and finally boots with the original values.

    1066 = 2133
    set to 1600

As above, ive tried that and all the guides i could find, the bios just resets on boot, and either locks or goes back to 2133 settings. Im running tha latest Bios BTW.

use the ryzen memory calculator to define manual timings.

Mine isn't stable unless i put the DRAM vCore to 1.35 or 1.365

What kind of memory chips are they? Use Taiphoon burner to find out. Also I'm assuming you have a 3rd gen CPU?

3800x, it clocks fine and is stable with an all core 4.5ghz clock, so at stock its fine. The RAM is running under speed so again stability isnt an issue, im just wondering if there is some magic setting on this mobo that im missing. Ive been using Intel since C2D came out so new to modern AMD.

Im thinking its a BIOS thing, the rig runs fine so i might just wait out until another update and see, just annoying that i have 3200 ram that runs at 2133.

AMD memory should not have problem like this.Screw the 3200Mhz speed, where to start is 3600Mhz.

Some things to try.First get proper setting for the ram and then apply enough voltage to the Ram,Soc etc.

Suggestion for Ram Download DRAM Calculator for Ryzen with Thaiphoon burner

In thaiphoon burner export your XMP profile with complete HTML Report and save delays in nanoseconds of to desktop or somewhere you would remember(scroll to bottom of thaiphoon burner for save in nanoseconds).
Then import the XMP complete HTML Report to DRAM Calculator for Ryzen

Then in the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen pick the settings you want and try them, they are meant as a guide. Print out setting from main and advanced or write them down.
    Processor-Ryzen 2 gen
    Memory Type-Pick your Ram
    Profile Version-manual
    Memory Rank-1 or 2
    Frequency - 3600
    BCLK-100
    Dimm-how many sticks
    Motherboard-x370/x470/x570
    Click R-XMP
Then Click Calculate for your approximate timings to try.

In BIOS set everything to optimized defaults and restart back in to BIOS.

In BIOS input the settings from the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen-depending on what settings you picked voltages may be different.

    Disable-PBO for now,can re-enable anytime
Set DRAM voltage to 1.5v for now ,can lower later after testing.
cLDO VDDG - 0.950v Most likely your auto settings set this to high, use recommended setting from DRAM Calculator for Ryzen
cLDO VDDP - 0.900v Most likely your auto settings set this to high, use recommended setting from DRAM Calculator for Ryzen
SOC - 1.125v -Set to max from DRAM Calculator for Ryzen for now.I use 1.05v on my system for stability.
DDR4-Set to 3600Mhz you picked in DRAM Calculator for Ryzen
The memory clock (mclk), the memory controller clock (uclk), and the infinity fabric clock (fclk) all need to be synced for best results. They can work when not synced.
So in BIOS set fclk-1800Mhz or half of 3600Mhz you picked in DRAM Calculator for Ryzen
So in BIOS set mclk=uclk-IF you do not have or can not find this-it should be set to 1:1 automatic
When set the mclk:uclk:fclk should be set to ratio1:1:1 for best results.

Give these a try without touching anything else in your BIOS and see how it goes.

after i updated to that useless beta my ram with the exact same settings that worked like a charm on abba doesnt work on this last bios, i tried lower 3600 mhz loose timing like 18-22-22-22 nothing works just jedec 2133... msi needs to fix it for sure

Op has ASRock X570 TAICHI,not sure what MSI has to do with it.
I do have MSI Motherboard with over 10 BIOS for Ryzen 3xxx and all BIOS work great for me ,especially with memory.
So I doubt MSI makes drastic changes between BIOS,they put all the same stuff in each BIOS.I suggest reflash BIOS and try again.

As i posted on the msi forums too, it seems all people with B350 and X370 motherboards have this problem so basically this is a failed bios from msi.

well my ASRock B450 beta bios actually has some "issues" with memory right now so perhaps it is a BIOS issue. My 3600 memory ran at 3733 just fine on a previous BIOS but won't even post at anything over 3666 right now.

Il try this tonight, its not the individual timings that are the issue, i have used the calculator and have followed all the other guides, its way more basic than that, It wont run at anything other than what is stock in the Bios, if i use XMP it defaults to 2133, if i change the strap or even the RAM speed to anything it defaults to 2133. But il try the settings from the bottom paragraph tonight, all i want initially is that it will run at the stock 3200 rather than downclocking to 2133.
