Me and my bro have two strix vega 64's in our house. The one I ended up with performed similar to that Synoxia. Long story short, he's using linux and always plays with stock clocks so we swapped them out.

That strix vega 64 performed so much better than the other. The memory is stable at 1100 mhz, mem timing 2 at 975 mv. It also undervolts very well, I haven't pushed it as far as I can because I don't need to with the games I'm playing at the moment.

I guess that's the silicone lottery.

I always turn off hardware acceleration for browsers because it's caused me problems before, and my processor can handle it fine.

Welk two things: I'm no longer going to complain about AMD's unwillingness to include PlayReady 3.0 support in drivers for Vega Graphics Solutions(TM).
I've got myself a Chromecast Ultra and it works admirably with Netflix and Disney+, and even Amazon Prime apparently, and my 4K HDR monitor.
So replacing my Vega 64 with a newer one is no a first longer first priority upgrade for my rig.

Secondly: I only found out yesterday that you can "lock" P-states from within Wattman, so the GPU no longer keeps throttling itself in poorly optimised (DX9) games, and my performance remains more constant... Why didn't I know this? It's so easy!

Yep, and it works like a charm to remain high clocks on my new vega64;)

Stock Vega will cap at ~1500MHz most of the time.
Im sure i can be closer to 5700XT NP with Our Tweaks :p

Please educate me because i have 64LC and can OC mine to 1175mhz which is really good and with tweaks get it faster

I see your core clocks high but your gfx score is only 24000

I can do easily now 27k in graphics so is your memory not pulling massive errors at that clock?
    Thanks

Its all good with the memory. My core is a dud needs like 300w to get to 1600mhz. So I got very good HBM but crap Core. I cant do more then 1675mhz or it will crash.

Oh well the rest is good.

Funny that you mention that @The_Amazing_X , i seem to have really decent HBM, but thew second i touch the powa it becomes super unstable in gaming, i can benchmark my arse off, the second i try anything other than 3dmark its game over. i just simply leave it all stock now and have gave up on my OC for sanity sake. FWIW, 4k mixed with ultra and high settings is possible in just about every game i play with some setting tweaks. And drivers just keep me getting better and better.

With me it depends on the game. I can use undervolt no problem and 1625mhz as limit. Or for example in Star Citizen I can use stock setings and 50% power and will boost to 1650mhz no issue all day long.

War thunder is the wrost one, Can keep high clocks its a stupid engine.

Its better win a silicon lottery when it comes to core clock before memory. It yield higher performance increase.

    I see
I am going to say my 64LC is OK then if i can reach 27k in FS
Its hoovering around 1700mhz core in this benchamark
In some games i noticed it boosted even hiigher towars 1720 1725mhz so happy with keeping this rig full AMD with my ryzen Cpu in addition to the VEGA

I saw some annoucment this week about water cooled navi cards but no aio
I hope a 5800xt will pop out in the coming years with an aio cooling solution then i will retire my VEGA

Oh dear. These old or UE engines are horrible. AMD has improved but still.. Comon DX12 needs to be standard.
