you need an extention to change the new tab page. you can only change what the home button does in the settings.

Well that's a stupid change... I just want my own tabs on startup, not some blank page along with it...

Back to Chrome untill such an extension is released then.

Actually fixed it by reinstalling, which also fixed my Syncing problem.

I think the EdgeDev folder was dirty.

Meh, they want this Edge on Linux repositories.
Why someone cutting ties with Microsoft want to install their browser? Even more, why someone will install their antivirus?
Yes, they will release also Microsoft antivirus for Linux.
The only thing could be the exposure.
Leave our Linux alone, that's why I left Microsoft!

ehm , you can download chrome extentions, so you can already use the extention. enable devoloper in settings, then download from other store.

It was just a bug in my case, cleaned it all up and reinstalled Beta instead.

I know Edge supports extensions, i'm using uBlock Origin, Stylus and Tampermonkey.

Syncing data is still a mess with Microsoft.

For me it syncs some old bookmarks and none of my passwords.

Instead i copied over the entire Edge Beta folder which did the trick.

If I have beta version of Chromium-powered MS Edge, will the official version be automatically installed?

I've been using the dev branch since it came out on my work machine. Stable is now my main browser on my own PC.

Definitely better than Chrome (really love the way MS tuned the scrolling, like on previous Edge). Firefox has all little technical annoyances. Also I can finally (well, not yet on stable branch) use Finnish spell checker since Edge uses Windows' built in one. There isn't any for Chrome and when the old Firefox extensions stopped working the Voikko based spell checker obviously stopped working (they should just use Windows' built in). Dictionary based spell checkers are pretty much useless for Finnish so the only option has been to use Edge.

Anyone had a chance to try this out yet?

I have mixed feelings, whilst it's nice to be able to rank sort your set aside tabs and name them i think the whole "collections theme" is a little lame, would have prefered it if they kept the little save closed tabs button in the top left and used the above mentioned in there. Atleast they've done something right, i literally contacted the lead developer of Edge on Linkedin to push for this feature.

Also a big fan of the minimalist new tab search page you are able to configure, for the first time in my life i can say i am actually using Bing more! Although i've never been a fan of "Binging it" the Microsoft search bar is nice to browse the web from with it's minimalist design.

They need to go back to the UI drawing board in some sense, loading your collections menu it has a little lag on generating the list. All in all nice to see Microsoft pave the way for smarter web browsing.

    Mytwocents!
