You're being a little too dramatic there. Rockstar and CD Projekt aren't gonna release games that aren't playable on the majority of hardware. Hell my Geforce 560 Ti played The Witcher 2 like a beast!
Fair point with the RTX on and 4k. But for RDR2, maxed at 1080p or 2k, I think a 2080TI would be more than enough.
The 2080 ti was underwhelming from the get go, only 30% faster than the 1080 ti, so it's hardly surprising. Performance increases has really stagnated in recent years. Fingers crossed that the 3080 ti will be SIGNIFICANTLY faster, and release within a year.
I feel your pain which is why I went with 2k monitor as its perfect for 2080ti. I am actually going to play the new star wars game on my ps4 pro simply because I can couch game and play on my 4k tv in peace without having to worry about the 2080ti struggling. In this day and age we should already have a card that can push 4k easy. I already played rdr2 on my ps4 just recently, so will hold off on this for a while until I see some amazing vids on youtube no doubt + mods.
He is still right though. I get more and more games in my library that are too taxing for my 2080Ti to run maxed and I don't even play at 4K but 3440x1440. It's the way of life, but that don't mean it's bittersweet. Games have these Ultra setting but not card can truly run them. Then of course there is the discussion "Does the difference betwen Ultra and High really show?" and it's a valid point. Also, why aren't games better optimized? I really long for the rumored 2080Ti Super just because my monitor requires it. Trust me though that I'll never ever cross the line over to 8K gaming or whatever's the next step from 4K 4K@60Hz on the TV is more than enough and my current 3440x1440@95Hz is also smooth enough (I wouldn't care for 120 or 144Hz). One does not simply buy a 2080Ti to play at 1080p
AMD and Nvidia must stop milking videocards and give us a card with a true performance leap so 4k at 144fps is possible with the latest titles easily.
Dont forget: the spaghetti western are the best,Sergio Leone & Ennio Morricone are the best. I wait the Steam release in december, for better features.
I finish work at 3pm GMT, looking forward to getting home and giving it a go. Performance at 3440x1440 with a single card has me worried, I’m assuming SLi won’t be supported at all, hope I’m wrong.
I beat the SP on xbox one, not to say I won't play through it again, but I will probably be more inclined to try the online right away. I think ultimate gets some ranking bonus XP too for online.
I am trying the sli bits from gta 5 right away, as i can see the latest driver did not include a sli profile for rdr2.
More like 4 hours and 30 minutes as some of us are stuck at work!!! I read the game doesn't unlock until 2pm here in the UK anyway so the delay isn't going to be too bad. I was hoping that the game would unlock at midnight and even stayed up to see if it would. Didn't happen nor was it unlocked this morning prior to going to work. I guess, on reflection, that was a good thing and besides it's not like I haven't played the game at all. Still, can't help but feel a little excited for the PC version as it is, undoubtedly, going to be the definitive version of this awesome game, just as GTA V was before it.
And I just remember having this argument in another thread. Sli strikes again... Regardless hope it works for you.
