    When you spend millions on ads,
    When you pay streamers to play your game and bring it top of game lists,
    When you pay social media to bring your group on top of active communities (cough.. reddit cough...)
    When you created hype so big, so nothing can stop it, people tend to become numb, kids aggressively asking their parents to buy them the game and the rest just throw money at you, so they don't feel left behind....

    Sorry, I got numb... what is this #FreeHongKong thing? Do I get more guns in-game if I tweet it?

    Greedy company recycles the nth revision of its boring franchise and makes $600 million in 3 days.

    Indy developer slaves for 5 years in their basement on their mobile game only to have a conglomerate steal the idea and release it as freemium.

    There's something terribly wrong about this world.

    Shows a couple of things:

    Outcries usually are done by a loud minority.
    The silent majority just buys for whatever their reasons are.
    Doing what works over and over with little innovation is not too little to cash out big time.

    Just shows that things haven't changed; the masses will still flock to garbage like seagulls.

    FYI the campaign is 4-6 hours long, 2 of that being cutscenes. Nothing special, I mean sure it looks good but it's just another CoD.

    Moving along.

    Source/Proof? I mean I am not suprised GTA would do better, but I'm doubting the 1 billion

    Let me say what we are all thinking: one of the reasons the advertising was so successful is because instead of trying to appeal to SJW nonsense, they made a trailer that you could put on in-between cartoons on a saturday morning:

    It was pure, simple 'old-fashioned' mass appeal for the demographic they all wanted and knew would spread the word very quickly=> teenage boys.

    The 'good old days' of military shooters for teenage boys kinda peaked with BF4's advertising:

    And the shift began immediately afterwards to the detriment of sales and focus for companies - and this game "COD Modern Warfare" is absolutely great, as it proves beyond all else that matters to all companies (money) that having an SJW slant to your advertising does not ****ing work!

    Or, in very simple terms that no one in marketing (84% female industry) can ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever argue against is this:

    If you want to make $600m in your opening weekend, you put an advert together aimed at teenage boys and teenage boys alone.


    The money is there is they want it, and now, no more discussions about SJW need to be had ever again. That's it peeps. That is all. Never again will we have to sit through SJW crap and re-writing of history in video games to further an agenda that does not pay the bills.

    The wallets have spoken, and we can all rejoice!

    Normal service will now resume, as the SJW's have left the building...forever...
