If Nvidia would have released this card at this price earlier in the year, and never even made the regular or Ti versions they would have had a huge hit on their hands. By releasing it at this time they're too late because the RX580 and RX590 have been dominating the $200-$220 range for a while now.

    More performance/dollar is always welcome.

At $230, It’s one of the best cards to buy at the moment in the mid range segment.

Finally GTX 1070 performance at sub $250. Took long enough...

    1660/1660 S = 1408 shader cores
    1660Ti = 1536

I know that^ but frame rates look almost identical?...that's all I care about.

Don't forget, Ti has 12 Gbps GDDR6 and the SUPER 14 Gbps.

It's a trade off with the Ti having more cores vs the Super's faster memory. But I think it's safe to say that nobody is gonna spend an extra $50 now for a Ti version, and the RX 590 is also out of the picture since the Super has a substantial lead over it. Throw in some overclocking and you really do have a beast value card. I wonder what retailers are gonna do with all the leftover Ti cards?

Edit: Hilbert replace your 5 with a 6 in your last post.

it certainly seems they'll need a 1660Ti super to justify them selling the 1660ti at a higher price than the non Ti that's for sure,

With only a few fps difference compared to the old 1660, this seems as pointless as rebrands, which is pretty funny since this actually has a real hardware difference in the form of the memory chips.

Pretty much the same perf at a better price, can't complain there really.

The problem with rebrands isn't that they are pointless, it's that they typically market the card as a generation newer. No one who bought the 1660 is going to upgrade to a 1660 super. For people looking to buy a card in the $230 price range - they just got a new option that's slightly faster. That's not a bad deal.

So it's basicly a more quiet, cooler and same or better performing 1660ti for the price of a 1660.
I might as well just return my 1660 while i still can and just get this one.

this card is the most over priced POS available right now i would never consider or recommend one of these with the current pricing of the RX 580 $220cad vs gtx 1660 super $340 cad its 50% more expensive even if u have to spend 80$ on a new PSU the RX 580 makes more sense to me

Obviously the super version of the 2060 and 2070 replaced just one card, here the 1660 Super has in effect replaced two as the faster memory seems to make up for the less cores, especially in DX12 games.

If nvidia added same memory to 1660ti for the 1660Ti Super the difference would appear again in performance, but it would be even more expensive than current ti and getting towards 5700 AMD.

Talking of which, AMD need to get the 5500/5600 out now to compete in this sector

It would make more sense to just drop 1660ti prices. Used 1070's are below 200$ at this point still faster than all these 1660's
