MSI takes initiative to release BIOS updates for AMD motherboards. This latest AMD Combo PI version 1.0.0.4 Patch B (SMU v46.54) has a massive improvement at all points concerning debugs and optimizat... MSI First to release AGESA COMBO PI 1.0.0.4 Patch for AMD motherboards
First to get one out of "Beta" sure, but not first to release, and if recent history continues, these msi "release" are beta quality anyway. Asrock has 1.0.0.4 available to the Taichi boards already and Asus has a beta out for the strix F and E
Gigabyte has an early alpha out for the X570 master too, not touching it though, waiting for something more complete.
Good of MSI to actually starting to support us that bought expensive X570 motherboards now. My X570 Pro Gaming Carbon WiFi got ABBA just a few weeks ago. I only had the pre release 1.0.0.3 up until then. I'll update after I'm finished with The Outer World's. I don't want any new issues at this point.
Asus also has some BIOS update - https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/TUF-GAMING-X570-PLUS/HelpDesk_BIOS/ Did anyone test it?
I have asrock x570 taichi and i do not see agesa v1.0.0.4 bios available yet. I have applied latest bios (v2.11) and it is still 1.0.0.3. I just tried to edit direct links to bios and 2.12, 2.20 and 2.30 give me 404.
Do you have a link to said BIOS? Was looking around yesterday on TT and OC but haven’t seen Gigabytes new 1.0.0.4 AGESA BIOS yet.
Their AGESA 1004B / SMU 46.54.0 - N18 bios is here, use at your own peril. https://www.overclock.net/forum/28169874-post3075.html
Some links for Asus and Asrock BIOSes, have just downloaded the one for ASUS x570-E and will test it during the day https://www.computerbase.de/2019-10/amd-agesa-1004-asrock-x570-x470-x370/ Article is in German, but you can cope with finding the links within it.
If all that 1.0.0.4 AGESA brings is boot updates, I'll pass on this one, since boot times are already very fast (compared to what I'm used on my old x99). Besides who knows, it might break other things.
Unless it fixes something that is broken I wait at least one month that way you can read others experiences and if there is a major flaw hold off.
Keep checking this: https://www.hardwareluxx.de/communi...-bios-agesa-ubersicht-24-10-19-a-1228903.html ... if you want to know if -your- motherboard got it or not. (Sometimes it's even faster than the official update website ... no idea how these guys manage to do that!)
Installed it and made a quick test with C20, I see no difference in the behavior of my system (X570-E Strix with 3800X) , so I can advice to wait, as at least at this point I see no real difference for my PC. Perhaps the others might notice a change...
