Run the same tests you run to test overclocked systems, OCCT, 3dmark, unigine etc for a few hours or even just leave a game or game benchmark running that you know for a fact stresses your system.

Looks like the Edge when playing a video crash is back in this.

every released driver must be whql certified, because without you cant install it the normal way anymore. so every hotfix/beta one has whql...

Recently formatted my computer, have only installed this driver, but I get stutter at random times in games, no matter if its a graphics intensive game or not. I have 2 1080 tis, even with sli disabled I get the same result. I never had this issue before I formatted. Could it be this driver or something else?

It's time to upgrade my PC. I wanted to buy 1660, but Nvidia does everything so that I no longer get in touch with them, as AMD once did.
Everything was fine until the driver update 420... I rolled back to the old 387 driver, GTA broke down last week, I decided to upgrade to 436, even YouTube stopped working for me ... I rolled back to 431, but the miracle did not happen. Then I downloaded this fix 436.51 and again failed. Now I am installing 387 again. It seems that Nvidia began to smell bad.

700 series owners should not install higher than 399.24,
600 series owners can, but for some reason for 700 cards, it all goes to crap.

    Probably Boost 2.0 specific.

Seems right. For my MSI GTX760 Gaming best driver is 387.92.

But I see on the Nvidia support forum a lot of messages about the failures of different video cards. I'm really disappointed. I almost bought a GTX 1660 Ti GAMING X.

Any reason for non-turing users to update from the golden 431.70 if I don't have any issues or play any of the games that have had fixes for? Basically is there finally better performance or still the same or slightly worse? Asking for Paxwell and Maxwell. I have decided to only update to really solid drivers as I don't play as much anymore and I am off the upgrade every driver release train. I am on the tried, tested, and true method of solid drivers less often train :)

    Thanks.

side note, for non turing users the 431.86 is the golden, its the 431.70 with a few fixes.

ALL the drivers since the 431.86 have SUCKED for my Volta (Titan V) and Titan XP buids -with empasis on major suckage from the 436.xx for not turing.

    ps
the 431.86 added 24 bit, 30 bit, and 64 bit colour. HOWEVER, I'm not sure if that applies to non volta

Thanks dude! Will try. I have bee using the 431.70 drivers as they are studio certified which usually counts for something unlike WHQL, Game Ready, or whatever meaningless label they like to give their drivers these days.

(tested with 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti on two differents computers under windows 10 uptodate)

and ground texture on Kassshyk are still broken in dx12 mode :/

431.70 was very good for Turing as well, at least for me.

Switched to 436.30 as I needed a newer driver for Surge 2 but otherwise I'd still be using 431.70.

Next time I'll update when Division 2 DX12 crash gets fixed, probably around 400.77 I'd guess...

Getting artifacts whit these in GRID 2019 Some Rocks textures not loading and a lot of ghosting behind the cars when racing!

I was wondering as well, but from what I've read it seems like it is the fault of Rockstar and their launcher. We shall see...
Same here, as well as some flat red boxes instead of textures. Also several cars would have white lights when I looked backwards, when they should clearly have yellow headlights.
