Why are companies still opting to use micro-USB on new devices in this day and age... At this point for me, its a deal-breaker.

What is the matter how keyboard connects to its cable? It is not the side of cable user inserts into computer.

Micro USB cables break on the micro side very easily,, my xbox one pad has that connection and i have glued it in

I dont like the idea at all, either solder the cable directly or make it wireless

Or buy new one if you really like it in action. (I think they hope for that.)

Update: Also gamepad is one thing, but keyboard is completely another thing - it lays super stationary on the table.

I can't imagine breaking a USB port of any kind on a KB. I'd take USB-B over micro any day but it seems that they've killed off the B type connector.

I dnno, i just feel we've found the be all end all connector solution to USB and id be happy if everything id ever need in the future is just one type of connector type. I realise connector isnt everything but new protocols are backwards compatible as far as im aware so..

Isn't USB-B (full size) pretty common on printers?
Not really 100% backwards compatible. I've experienced AIO printer where the scanner part fails to work on USB3 but work fine on USB2.

Scanners and some external drives/enclosures as well. I don't think they've updated it since USB 3.0; hopefully we'll see another revision with USB4.
