I have only had Marmite a few times while traveling in europe....it is an interesting taste. I can't say i would eat it regularly on toast, but i could see it working well in/with several dishes.....kind of like bitters or worcestershire. It tastes like beef bullion cubes i think, but there is a malty taste to it (kind of like malt vinegar).
Get a pack of little smokies out of the frig and a spoon to smear the pb on the little smokies and I am in high cotton
I like PB and Chedder Cheese, but can substitute with Comté or Camembert/Brie when I run out (quickly). The people in the shops at Dover usually look weird when I buy a whole tray of Sun-Pat Crunchy, about six multi-packs of Pork Scratchings and loads of Boddintons/Murphys/Guinness Draught. Most Brits come to France to get Booze, I go back to the UK to get booze + PB + Porkies lol OT : Brexit is going to harm my trips to the UK (Or just "England", as it may become). Might be able to go get it from Ireland though...
You bring up skippy. I like it too. I like most brands of pb. Reese's pb is too sweet for me, but peter pan, jif, and skippy are all good.
I eat lots of peanuts, no PB. Cant get crunchier than that. Loved PB as a kid, but for some reason no longer cared for it over the years.
Not a peanut butter fan but if you offered me it on a nice fresh slice of cutting bread i would not say know, either type.
I've also had peanut butter with chicken and pork (not at the same time). Went down OK. I literally haven't tried Jelly yet ? I'm more of a savoury taste than sweet. Skippy is a little too sweet for me. They've stopped stocking the "Ethical Brand" Peanut Butter at the local. Have to get a "weird brand", and they never re-stock the Crunchy (or someone buys the lot every time before I get there...)
Used to be a crunchy lover. However since I dropped eating bread and just use a little bit of peanut butter in my protein shakes, I prefer the creamy one. But yeah, I guess I could say I like both crunchy and creamy, depending on what it's used with. Also, JIF all the way, ever since I got my first jar from amazon like 4-5 years ago (you can't find this stuff here otherwise), I fell in love with it.
dude, it is so worth it just to try. I am not big on sweets either, so i can relate. Its fantastic with chicken and pork (thai peanut sauce is amazing!!). Lol, whatever Dark Helmet......my schwartz is bigger than yours . But yeah, creamy has its uses (like making thai peanut sauce).
Smooth if it's on bread, but crunchy if i'm eating it with a spoon. Quite liking the suggestions of PB and Nutella, probably try that on Saturday's cheat meal. The wife will likely think it's sacrilege as she loves Nutella and hates nuts. Though, that reminded me of the last time i tried to wind my wife up with peanuts and gave our boy a bit of a Snickers. He was about 1 at the time, and i had no idea if he could eat them. Crapped myself at the time.
