    Release Notes

    Fixed Issues :
    • [Fortnite][CS:Go]: Eliminated cases of stutter when Ultra low latency mode was enabled. [2682105]
    • [Forza Motorsport 6/7]: The game may crash during gameplay. [2686338]
    • [World of Warcraft]: The game may flicker at the character-selection screen. [2684628]
    • [Notebook][GeForce GTX 970M]: The GPU clock speed on some notebooks is stuck at the base clock speed and does not boost. [2683147]
    • [GeForce RTX 20 series][Forza Horizon 4][Gears of War 4][Gears 5]: Colored corruption may appear on some surfaces throughout the game. [200544234]
    • [Firefox][G-SYNC]: When G-SYNC is enabled, flickering occurs with YouTube full-screen video playback on FireFox when hovering over the timeline. [200544130]
    • [Control][DirectX 12 ][Pascal GPUs]: Blue-screen crash occurs pointing to nvlddmkm.sys when in-game software Ray Tracing is enabled. [200543646]

    Open Issues :
    • [G-SYNC]: NVIDIA G-SYNC might not be enabled automatically for monitors newly approved as G-SYNC-Compatible upon updating the driver. [200544252]
      • To work around, enable the monitor by opening the NVIDIA Control Panel->Display->Set Up G-SYNC page, then select the display and select Enable settings for the selected display.
    • [SpaceEngine]: The game crashes when launched. [2684322]
    • [UBOAT]: The game crashes due to memory allocation issues when launching Sandbox mode from the main menu. [2694301]
    • [Tom Clancy's The Division II]: The game may crash when played in DirectX 12 mode.[200406322]
    • [FIFA 19]: The game may crash to the desktop. [2690624]

It's probably the same issue some people get with BFV / Battlefront 2

    Avoid with DX11 i guess?

Exactly the same performance on Gears 5. I was expecting a little boost tbh.

Did you check if you can enable Asynchronous compute in-game with this driver?

The option requires a patch from TC to expose on nvidia now the new drivers are available, i believe?

Or possibly just override it in the config file but that could be unstable until the game data is updated which shouldn't take too long since they're planning monthly updates and probably bug fixes and hotfixes in-between content drops. :)

    GameUserSettings.ini

    [ScalabilityGroups]
    sg.AsyncComputeQuality=1
(0 or 1 with it just being a on/off thing.)

The game can reset it though or it might be forced off on NVIDIA hardware as well but it's something that can be tried though with uncertain results. :)

My understanding is they removed the option and it isn't coming back. This is an AMD sponsored title, remember. Gears 4 always had it day 1.

Asynchronous compute as such should be vendor neutral though but it's also not a complete fix and it depends on how much it's used by the game engine and if shaders are what's holding performance back so 5 - 10% maybe under very ideal circumstances even if some newer game engines boast on the async compute workload they're now doing although this is also often from AMD sponsored titles and it plays to a strength they've at least said they've had but NVIDIA's newer hardware should also do well with this enabled now for Turing and probably Pascal also. :)

EDIT: It should just work unless the implementation or something in the driver is making it unstable but it might be a difference in how much it helps and the GPU's are kinda powerful as is so the gains could be comparably lower though total framerate might still be quite impressive just due to the sheer GPU power NVIDIA's cards hold which includes low-level API's such as DirectX 12 and Vulkan where NVIDIA has also been quite active in support and including performance.

Although it's clear Division 2 is going to need a game patch to fix that little mess and here will if Coalition is working with both AMD and NVIDIA the next patch should see asynchronous compute being available on NVIDIA.

I wonder if they fixed half frame rate bug that occurs when gsync enabled and vsync is off in game had that issue in wolfenstein: youngblood, fallout 76 and Anthem...

Turing works better with AC than Pascal, so it makes no sense it is not there.

Async compute is definitely not vendor neutral, overall you have to code to the way the device prefers to be sent commands,
you can get good-enuff implementations that won't harm performance though.

As for how Gears 5 uses it, they said themselves that they have gone back and reimplemented all possible shader routines through the async engine.

  19. In addition, our new driver also supports several other anticipated releases, such as The Surge 2, FIFA 20, and Code Vein, so if you’re intending to play any of those, be sure to download and install the new Game Ready Driver.
