is not meant for 300fps gameplay ( that would probably be a blurry mess of pixels shifting around ).
The 300hz helps when you cannot keep up the 60fps per second on vsync.

The frame that miss the deadline, does not have to wait for 16.6ms but just 3.3ms.
Theroically it will soften micro shutters.

I would not choose a laptop for this anyway.

"300hz lel it can't even get 300FPS in anything"

Except in like some of the most popular games, CSGO, Rocket League, League of Legends and you can get around 200-250 FPS in Overwatch, Fortnite. All of these games can be played over 200 FPS and most of the people wanting to play these would play on the lowest possible settings to get that.

You guys are so insanely out of touch. It's mindboggling.

I don't know. I would say playing on the lowest setting to get 250 fps instead of dunno 150fps is out of touch unless you're a pro gamer paid to play games. If you're not good enough to be a pro gamer it wont make a difference cause you're simply not good enough to exploit the difference.

Like I said, out of touch. Considering this laptop is likely to be a couple thousand dollars, it really isn't made for the everyday, below-average shitters, is it?

Yeah you know, 2070, that low-end card, haha

Of course the article also talks about variants with a 2080 but you didn't actually read it.

300mhz seems like overkill to me. Anything over 144mhz to be honest.

He didn't say pro gamers. I have a few friends that play CSGO on laptops at really high level though - I'm not sure they'd buy this for the 300hz screen but if they are in the market for a new laptop it would definitely entice them.

i already knew the answer, it was more of a comment on the hz to card ratio. Even a 2080 wouldnt really take full advantage of it.

I don't understand - some of the most popular games, some of which are listed in this thread, would 100% take advantage of it even on a 2070, let alone a 2080.

Why are you guys so anti-technology?

BlurBusters did an article about the effects of very high refresh rates.

It may not be much a difference latency-wise after you get to around 165 fps, but the motion blur can still be reduced greatly.

In my opinion, any multiple of 120hz (100hz for PAL users) is the preferred as you can run 24hz and 60hz content (25hz and 50hz for PAL users) at that refresh rate with smooth playback.
