Repasted and properly done, I think this cooler is just junk.

Nvidia cards really have some strong showing lately. GCN is on its way out, RDNA performs better.

Depends on the engine. Crap an not well uptimized games dont run well on GCN

Remember that dx11 and GCN does not behave well.

Just got the Heatkiller block, will have to wait 2 weeks going on leave :). But will mod the block just a bit on the 8pin location. all of the holes align and the red devil pcb is the same as the reference only diferent because it was extended for the Devil cooler :)

Messing around with reseating cooler on Sapphire Nitro+
    Re-pasted with Thermal Grizzly
    Installed new thermal pads
Installed nylon washers for more die pressure

    P7-1707mhz@ 1110mv
    HBM-1130mhz@1050mv
68% max fan curve (not audible above system fans)

stress loop FireStrike Ultra(passed with 99.4%)

    before mod
    core 61-63c max 65c
    hotspot 94-96c max 98c
    HBM 67-69c max 72c

    after mod
    core 59-60c max 61c
    hotspot 88-90c max 93c
    HBM 65-66c max 68c

Just to see I maxed out fans:
    core 53-54c max 55c
    hotspot 80-84cc max 88c
    HBM 57-59c max 60c

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/aopfxi/radeon_vii_owners_lower_temps_10c_with_simple/ you did this mod? Why nylon washers? metal ones would short gpu? If then, can you share sizes of these?
Are thermal pads replacement still needed with washer mod? Which have you used?

https://www.amazon.it/rondella-ManY...elle+in+nylon&qid=1567297145&s=gateway&sr=8-3 found these washers on amazon

I used nylon for two reasons.
    #1- non conductive
#2- they will most likely crack with to much pressure before hurting the board.

I used #6 washers along with Thermal Grizzly 1.0mm minus pad8 and paste

This mod will depend on the die. If you have a unmolded one it won't help. If molded it will help.

First try -1 for known values, then adjust & test for stability.

Yes, most of the recent Vegas are molded, the older ones are unmolded and that causes the hmb to be a bit lower or higher. Issue is you can crack the die of you put pressure on it. Mine is unmolded :(. But my hbm does 1150mhz so I think the contact is good .
