After reviewing the XT model, it is time to check out the ASUS Radeon RX 5700 ROG STRIX (non-XT) today. The beefy card comes with increased clocks, spiffy looks and can be called silent, and I mean re... Review: ASUS Radeon RX 5700 ROG STRIX
No one talks about these non-xt variants. Such a underrated card, it beats 2060 super and regular 2070, vega 64 in most benchmarks. If this was 300$ product it would be a killer.
Of late I can't understand what Asus is doing with their prices. I guess they have their loyal customers who keep buying, so even if they sell less, they still make enough profit. If they aren't selling less despite the higher than competitors' prices, then I really don't understand. I have had a few of Asus cards over the years, and back then they weren't overpriced.
Good card but as others said stupid price. You can pretty much buy a reference XT with an aftermarket cooler for about the same price ...
And I expected that reviewers will use MorePowerTool always for RX5700 and bummer ... nothing Even though it can be all set under one minute Some tests were done here (not in English, but pictures shows the difference) https://gpureport.cz/clanky/218-jak...t/radeon-rx-5700-sppt.aspx?article=218&page=2
I always liked Asus products, specially their MBs, but in the last years they have lost it when it comes to pricing. First their ROG products were gaming oriented with a decent premium over non ROG products then they became super expensive. To fill the gap between the normal stuff and ROG stuff, they create the Strix line, a "poor" mans ROG line, but now Strix products are becoming also expensive as hell... I wonder if this is working for Asus...
Pricey, but the Strix GPU series have some of the best cooling around. If I were Asus, I would put the Strix stuff on the higher end cards where more people would be willing to pay for it. Used to own the Strix 1080 Ti model and it was one of the nicest, and coolest running GPU's I've ever owned. Overclocked like a champ too.
I have a 1070 Strix and the cooler is effectively one of the best. But i did not pay that kind of premium for it though. In fact it was on sale and was one of the least expensive triple fan 1070. I really don't see any reason to buy that over the PowerColor Devil unless you can't find the PowerColor card.
Yeah. Good point. I wonder why they jacked up the price so much for this one. They're in pretty high demand right now, right? Maybe they are taking advantage of that.
I'll give them about a month before their sales dept slap themselves in the face for thinking they can sell it higher than the tier above it. The price will not hold.
I didnt yet have time to read whole review, but if card is silent with silent bios.. its nice, but we should have both measurements with perf and silent bios too.. to discovered how much it is slower with silent bios.
On page 7, It says, "Game performance in absolutes is stated to be close to 10 FLOPS single precision for the fully enabled GPU (XT), which is not bad." I would guess that should be TFLOPS.
