Apologies, I weren't doing a very good job of answering your question in my previous post.

I'd say that as far as targeting stable in-game performance, over maximum possible but higher variance, goes that yes - that's a good idea.

It's not necessarily the case that keeping your clock frequency within the most narrow band possible results in the most stable performance, however. Different scenes in a game stress different parts of the card and if you could hard lock frequency to, say, 1500MHz you'd see power usage and frame rates varying quite a lot in many games.

Personally I've had fairly good results at achieving stable performance by locking down power draw, as opposed to frequency, but whether that's true for your card and the games you play would require testing.

If you're getting stable performance at your current settings that you're overall happy with then I see no reason to change anything!

I hope that's a bit more clear on my part. :p

Well...sometimes it just works after installing GtkSharp. And you don't have to do anything else.

Other times that doesn't work. And you have to do what you did. Or...something to that effect. All you really need to copy to the Vega64SoftPowerTableEditor folder are the 2 files listed below.

    gtk-sharp.dll
    zlib1.dll

    Less ugly/more elegant.

Try 1700 or 1695 as a max. I can't hit 1750 even on pretty extreme watercooling.
I can hit 1690's-1700's stable though, depending on the game.
I flashed to vega liquid bios, though I had to change values afterwards to make it stable, and it will never boost to 1750. I found my limit to be 1705 max clock, its happy there ;)

A Red Devil should be a pretty good binned chip though.

i keep it tight as it's plan for specific games. those games do not require any more than 1500mhz. no point for higher spikes and power consuption, pure waste imo. i have also plan for more demanding games at ~1600 which is more flexible and now i'm working on archeivieng ~1700, it's hard as hot spot reaches 90°C. all mentioned clocks are average, so ofc max and min clocks are varying.

Guy why we even bother ;)
Change in Game Shadow from Ultra to High
:p no need for 1700+ clocks.

I dont care really, 48 to 75fps its fine freesinc range.

But Its a Red Devil 1500mhz avg its rubish, I just want to know the reson for not boosting above 1600mhz. Will repaste and come back with news . probbaly mid next week

Tried a liquid bios, and 1 difference liquid is XTX and red devil is XT second it works but when it boosts to 1600mhz it stutters and clocks drop temp was 60c so I think that I need to lower the temps for this to work. Tried nitro + bios and no juice had to put another gpu to boot and flash Standart BIOS again. Back to oc bios, tomorrow new paste will arrive, can someone help me with the termal pads please I need to replace them but I don't know the size.

    Vega best clocks (P6 & P7):
    For not demanding titles: 1450-1500MHz
    For demanding titles: 1550-1630MHz

Feels bad for people who "upgraded" V64 to 2070 ;) That is before 19.8.2 driver with 10% boost.

Future is set to be DX12/VLK Mainstream.
We are cool, also we don't need Ultra settings for everything.
Remedy game is still looking great at V.High or High.

    Note:
TBF optimisation for it is crappy ;)
    SotTR just smiling on it.

installed No Man Sky again, Vulkan update + vega 64 Red Devil 1520mhz 1030mv stable 1090hbm2 951mv -7power, 70c sometimes 80% fans (will repaste today and put washers on the gpu bolts maybe it will help), I have from 60 fps to 90 fps at 1440p. OpenGl was junk and now vulkan has just made the game 5*.

Does anyone know were can I get the screws for the GPU the small spring loaded?

    You have rtx+dlss with a 2070...

AKA slideshow FPS and/or blurriness worse than an out-of-focus picture
Remember guys, the only “good” GPU for ray tracing costs more than an average complete gaming PC

I hope that Big Navi/RDNA2 brings good ray tracing performance for every price point. Ray tracing with conslowles will become the norm.
    Not now, though.

There are other Control performance reviews that include the RX5700 series as well as well as the Super series.
