    Ok coming back from the temperature problem, i decided to change my id cooling se 214 with an aio 240, so the results are like this:
    Ambient temperature in my room is 29 degrees.
    Prime95 small fft 89 degrees, aida64 stress test is 80 degrees, tried crysis 3 for 30 mins or so, temperature variates from 55 to 75. all is stock with my 3600 no overclocking.
    Im believe my bios is the fault of this, my motherboard is msi x370 gaming pro carbon, the bios is the 1NP beta one...
    I dont know, in my opinion the temps are too high with an aio 240.
    Idle temperature varies from 36 to 45 or so.
    Is it normal in your opinions, who have the ryzen 2nd gen.
    The aio is id cooling frostflow+ 240.

    Reposting what I wrote in the 1003 ABB thread here as well hopefully some of you's might have an idea what's going on:

    "Asus has finally updated the X570-E Gaming to ABB (bios version 1005). Running that now with latest chipset driver but I think my performance has gone backwards vs the AB (bios version 7010)?

    When I run like Blender benchmark or Cinebench now my boost only goes up to 3.95-4.0GHz whereas before it would boost to about 4.3GHz (if my memory is correct). Voltage at load is now lower too at ~1.27V whereas before it would go to 1.37V (oddly enough idle voltage has been at 1.45-47V with iCue in the background). Playing Witcher 3 I see my boost go up to 4.27-4.3GHz on all cores though. Not really understanding this behaviour."

    Tried a little bit more since last night and looks like higher the load the lower my voltage goes? Running Cinebench and Blender it does show I am at 100% of 88W in PPT and TDC and EDC are very close to 100% too. But my Cinebench R20 score was only 3% lower compared to Guru3d review score which I attribute to the fact that Hilbert was using 3600 CL14 kit compared to my 3200 CL16 kit.

    Tried Prime95 since and voltage would actually settle at 1.37V and boost to 4150MHz doing 100% PPT and EDC but only around 80% TDC. Once it moves past the initial 44000 Lucas-Lehmer onto the 700000 Lucas-Lehmer test EDC went up to 100% and PPT dropped to 98% but now boost only went up to 3.7x GHz and voltage is only at around 1.11V? Temperature of any test doesn't want to exceed around 67 degrees C now and only running air cooler (Dark Rock Slim) whereas before temp would peak out at around 80 degrees C doing Blender.

    Your temperatures are normal and are exactly what you should expect for Prime95 small fft and gaming.
    There is no problem.If you would like lower temperatures then follow my post here and try 4200MHZ with 1.325v in AMD overclocking section or any combination you want.

    I assume your CPU is running around
    Prime95 3600-3700Mhz
    Games 400Mhz-4100Mhz

    boost ingame is between 4000 and 4100 and prime locks at 3850 with voltage between 1.325 and 1.3

    Sorry I didn't catch the voltage comment. I guess I'll try 1,46v then.

    My RAM temps are 50C stock while playing WoW :) But funny enough they are the same temps while OCd. Yes, my case doesn't really have good airflow.

    I have about the same temps as you with a 3800X:
    CPU-Z stress : 80C
    Gaming : 65-70C
    Idle : 45-55C
    Got the Corsair H100i Platinum SE (240mm) mounted in the top of my chassi. I'm sure that if it was mounted in the side, CPU temps would be better.

    I built a computer for my friend with about the same components but in a different case (Define R6) and with a Dark Rock 4 Pro:
    GPU-Z stress : 70C
    Gaming : 50-55C
    Idle : 40-45C

    I guess that if you go AIO you need a 360 or better to have these good temps, but on the other hand the Dark Rock 4 Pro costs lot less than a 360 AIO and is inaudible.

    well it's a 3800x an 8 core 95w tdp and my 3600 its not even boosting to 4.2 to say so maybe its this beta bios the fault i dont know still i think its way too much on an aio 240 for a 65w tdp proc.

    Well if you try what I suggested your will have a higher CPU clock and on load lower CPU voltage and less heat.Up to you to try it.

    ok just tried what you said 4.2 with 1.325 failed after 1.35 failed after i bumped to 1.375 cpuz bench worked aida64 stress froze and reset after this i decided not to try anymore cause i guess it needs 1.4 something voltage which would get me even hotter for sure.

    Well at least you tried and now you know,that your CPU is not capable of running any better than what the CPU can do itself on it's own.
    If temperatures is bothering you that much your should return your CPU and try for a better one , or you can always lower CPU clock and CPU voltage to where it does not bother you.

    3600/3600X are not binned as good as 3900X .
    You did not win the silicone lottery but your CPU seems to work as advertised even though you think temperatures are high.I can only say I think they are fine.

    If you do end up lowering your CPU Clock and CPU voltage make sure you check that you do not lose performance when you do ,against an all auto setting in BIOS.

    I just ran a stress test on one of my 3600X and I am on the edge of stability with such a low CPU voltage @ 4300Mhz but the temperatures are goods lol.

    Honestly im not even bothering anymore ive read so many threads and everybody seems to be on par with my temps so i guess it's just normal in the end, i was surprised because ive upgrade it from an r5 1600x with 95w tdp and that little guy never passed 60 degrees in games and on prime tops was 72 and this 65w little guy its smashing the temps

    That is true but considering my msi x370 pro carbon barely has 1 beta bios with agesa 1003 only my boosts are broken for sure and its been 1 month already with 0 updates ... nice time to be on msi motherboards for sure.

    I'm wondering if anyone else is able to reproduce this issue or if my power plans are bugged.

    I am running a 3700x, disabled PBO, 3800 CL16, 1:1 IF. When I run an Aida64 Latency test with any power plan, high performance, w10 Balanced, Ryzen balanced, etc, it will return with a 1.1-1.3ns difference vs w10 power saver plan.

    So with w10 power saver plan enabled, I receive a 64.1-64.3 result, then with any other power plan I receive 65.5-65.2. I can reproduce it as many times as I want.

    You should consider yourself lucky since boosting that high is really rare (an assumption based of what I've read so far in different threads). Have you done a manual OC per CCX?

    Well I decided to get a 3600 to mess about with. Firstly I'd like to thank MSI for their BIOS update........ because it's borked my B350M Gaming Pro. It won't post now and the LED indicates it's not accepting the CPU (neither the 1600X it was flashed with nor the 3600) even after leaving the battery out etc. to clear the CMOS overnight.

    Asrock have come to the rescue though as I've recently bought a B450 Pro 4 board. Fitted the 1600X and flashed the BIOS from 1.50 to 1.80 then to 3.50, put the 3600 in and flashed it to 3.60 (latest) and everything is fine, phew! had a right day of it yesterday swapping CPUs, coolers and motherboards :rolleyes:

    Just plopped the 3800X into my Asus mATX B450M-Pro.
    Dialing in the Memory right now.
    1900MHz IF seems fine, tried 2000, got a hard lock. Had to remove the battery. ;)
    3800 mem, Cas16 so far, 1.375v. ( I have 2 sticks of 8GB GSkill 3200Cas14)

    Wouldn't take Cas17 by what it says in the Bios timings. Just refused it and stayed at 18.
    I Went from 18 to 16 fine, have just left the rest on auto for now, changing one by one.

    Dram calculator comes up with C14 timings and 1.45v recommended voltage...we'll see

    Running a couple of memory test passes after a few changes.

    Still on the 1.0.0.3 AB bios.
    51°C and 1.4V in Bios doing nothing, stock box cooling.

    Waiting on a couple more waterblock connectors. :) (One i was going to use has a wiggle i dont like, its a previously used one, also need another 90° tube to tube connector)
    Going to have the pump/res hidden in the dual 5 1/4 inch bay (Fractal design Arc Mini R2, I bought this a while ago, as I have one already and really, really liked it, both black with windows.)
    The Large 240mm is up front. Dual Push-Pull Noctuas up front (4), one Noctua on rear.
    Making sure I have positive pressure in the case.

    So, no one else having the same issue with Windows Power saver plan resulting in lower latency vs all other power plans? Guess I need to reset my power plans again....

    Just not got there to testing that bit yet.

    edit : what software are you using to test the latencies ?
    edit2 : my aida64 test time has run out lol.
