We are reviewing the ASUS Radeon RX 5700 XT ROG STRIX. The product has increased clocks, increased looks and well is just customized all the way. Fabricated at a 7nm node and capable of battling with ...

Any chance to test one of the AIB cards with MorePowerTool with unlocked max Mem clock limit?

    Great Review btw [IMG].

way more power draw for a little performance gain.

Great review and a great performing card. Right up there with 2070S. Why does card not go over 2100mhz when you have it clocked at 2150(2200?). Is it power limited?

Correct, the power design does not allow the card to exceed that maximum and as such the card will throttle to match the max TGP.

No mention of ray-tracing?:( That is no-support on hardware-level.
Is it software-based and AMD cards already have the hardware to do ray-tracing and can do it via dx12 fallbacks. (Hope so)

Similiar power consumption as 2070S with a higher clocks and less than your 1080ti while delivering almost the same performance. You are overreacting.

Since the performance gains aren't substantial compared to the reference model, I guess for those of us who would like to watercool the GPU, there is no point in paying extra for an AIB board.

Nice review. I've noticed over past few months of reviews that the top cards are bottlenecking at 1080p. Seems even the 9900k is not enough for a 2080ti at that res, hence its results are too close to other cards below it in most games. Top cards need 1440p and above to stretch their wings.

p.s. HH, you highlighted wrong card in the OC results (p26) in TimeSpy (Titan Xp instead of 5700XT Strix).

Good review Hilbert, thank you! Pre-ordered my card now. For future reference, where do you see these card's prices? Here in the Republic of Ireland we only have Overclockers.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk to fill our hardware needs, subject to 20% VAT.

Not sure yet but it likely has to be under that 2070 Super.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn nice review but it looks like your game time analysis results are missing, or are these just not ready yet?

Thanks for the reply Hilbert. I noticed that, under your chapter heading "Frametime and latency performance", the charts you mentioned do not appear. Am I missing something or my browser isn't displaying it correctly?

Ah crap sorry about that, I forgot to add them. Fixed now. I received this card Thursday evening and only had time on Friday to make the review.

No need to explain, I appreciate the review :) Your reviews saved me from buying the AMD Radeon VII card, and this will be a nice upgrade from my 8GB 480 card.

Oh man, I'm feeling it. I'd be happy with my current card but I upgraded my monitor from a 1080p TN panel to a 2K VA panel and I want to push the refresh rates as high as the monitor will allow.

The next upgrade cycle will be my proc and motherboard, currently rocking a Ryzen 5, first generation with a B350 board. I'm turning thirty in two days so a new proc and motherboard will be my mid-life crisis gift to myself!

You mean the 5700XT has the same power-draw as the 2080S....right around the 250W mark.....2070S is 209W.
