i want to buy a 2070 super card. im using 4770k at 4.3 ghz. 2400 mhz ram. is it gonna bottleneck ?? if i enable ray tracing is it gonna be a hold back the gpu ?? i will go for a total upgrade next year. right now im using a GTX1080 with 4770k .. my monitor res is 2560 x 1080..
BFV - 6 cores (8700k) Metro @ High - 6 cores (8700K) could just be these engines specifically, but from benches i've seen RT scaling hits a wall on 4 core processors.
Interesting thinking though. I didnt even notice that. 4core cpus hit a wall on many occasions this days.
well yes raytracing can additionally load your cpu but at other side with rtx your fps will be 2 times lower, so no difference even with 4 cores
why would add it to the load? dx12 is parallel and nothing gets choked if done right.. From what I saw rt doesn't need much on cpu side, not 2 extra cores lol OT you will be fine, that 2400mhz makes all the difference. Maybe try cache 4.1 - 4.2ghz max 1.20v adaptive offset.
