lol, you guys. guess i lived too long in the states to remember this forum is based in europe.. btt, before i get in trouble
I've been on this forum since 2004 and honestly one of my fav parts is that it's based in Europe. You get way more varied opinions, experiences with buying/selling products, views on pricepoints, etc then you would on a forum based in the US. If it means I have to translate a little german every once in a while - then so be it
Samsung 5LP and "7 nm" Intel P1276 would be competing with TSMC's "3 nm" process, not with 5FF. "5 nm" TSMC process would be just slightly denser than Samsung 7LPP.
P1276 is EUV, so it's easier. And P1274 will remain densest DUV HP process in history. And most part of Zen 2/X570 platform is done with 14LP+++ (branded 12LP) process. Only cores and cache are on 7FF.
No one even talked about this and you brought it up for no reason. So...what's your point? That they were smart enough to not spend more money on something that'll not benefit from the die shrink? No no i'm sure your point was simply to try and throw more BS around just like coth has done and will do forever it seems. Why has this guy not been banned yet?
I honestly don't understand about 90% of what's said here anymore (the stuff in English, I love that this forum is International). Perhaps I'm losing interest. I'm a fan of progress though. I welcome the news that 7nm is coming. I remember some Pentiums that sounded like jet engines trying to stay cool. I want to say they were 180nm or 130nm. We've come a long way with shrinkage, efficiency and cooling solutions.
Also this CPU shrinkage will help Laptop CPUs because one of the reasons why there are issues with the 6 core and the 8 core mobile chips is the size of the chip is too big and it creates alot of heat besides the poor cooling solutions that some Laptop manufactures use.
Good for comsumers more choices and more performance right at this moment we have AMD to thank for the increased options as long as we get options and at a good price i dont care which maker is the market leader.
I suppose if I'm sensible I'll be waiting till 2021 for my next CPU upgrade! Will my 6700K @4.65Ghz last out till then, in terms of usefulness in gaming - I think so.
You sound like this guy: If you don't know who that is, i'm sorry, but you really, really sound like him, with sentences like that lol
Ha, I had to Google the image, Tribore it is then! Well it was a rhetorical question I posed, so there's that similarity, I'm not sure the other comparisons are flattering! ;-)
