For me this screams fake for one simple reason: the prices are simply too low!!! "Only" 450$ for a 10 CPU from Intel??? Or 340$ for an 8 core part? Who believes this???

As for (another) new socket, this i believe...

Prices are great, 10 core gaming beast for 409$, more choice, and based on Guru3d benchmarks 9900k is still unbeatable gaming king, sometimes by 40fps more, i9-10900KF will have security fixes build in and it will be both great gamer and great work CPU

    i9-10900KF 10/20 3.4Ghz/5.2Ghz = 499$

    i9-10900F 10/20 3.2Ghz/5.1Ghz = 449$

    i9-10800F 10/20 2.7Ghz/5.0Ghz = 409$

    i9-10700K 8/16 3.6GHz/5.1Ghz = 389$

    i9-10700 8/16 3.1Ghz/4.9Ghz = 339$

    i5-10600K 6/12 3.7Ghz/4.9Ghz = 269$

    i5-10600 6/12 3.2GHz/4.8Ghz = 229$

    i5-10500 6/12 3.1GHz/4.6GHz = 199$

    i5-10400 6/12 3.0GHz/4.4GHz = 179$

    i3-10350K 4/8 4.1GHz/4.8GHz = 179$

    i3-10320 4/8 4.0GHz/4.7GHz = 159$

    i3-10300 4/8 3.8GHz/4.5GHz = 149$

    i3-10100 4/8 3.7GHz/4.4GHz = 129$

Look again, it says: All processors are lead free [rohs verified 2006] and Halogen free [bla blah blah] Halogens are below proposed November 2007 ISO standards
The small text is legal mumbo jumbo to do product safety.

When they released the 6core they lowered the previous "TOP DOG i7" to i5 level and lowered prices, when gen8 came with i9 the 6th gen i7 became i3, the 7th gen 6 core went down in price and i9 took its place.
Now they doing the same pushing them down and they have a reason to, competition, since they dont have 10nm, they enabled HT on all CPUs[since it was deliberately disabled] and increased teh top CPU to 10 cores and pushed the CPUs down.

i call for lots pinches of salt.

there all hyperthread enabled now? could swore the pulled HT from i7 and made it i9 only

if "true" could be intrestings though i not sure i buy 65w for cpu that 10/20

It's got to be fake. We already know the next intel chips are 7nm.

I'm going to assume this is a joke? I really hope it is lol

Not saying you're absolutely wrong, but i have read nowhere that the 10000 series of CPUs will have any hardware mitigations the 9000 series doesn't have, unless it's icelake based, which i'd be surprised about, since ice lake should be the 10nm architecture that shouldn't be out on desktop any time soon.

It's already been confirmed that the desktop variants at the least will not be ice lake as ice lake is 10nm and 10nm won't be on desktops for, if i recall correctly, at least 2 years. And from what we know of ice lake, it even won't have full hardware mitigations.

From the looks of it, at best 10th generation desktop processors use a 14nm ice lake which doesn't have full hardware mitigations, at worst, 10th generation desktop processors will have a rehash of 14nm that's already out with even less hardware mitigations then if it were on ice lake.

So basically no matter what, they do not have hardware mitigation on everything.

This is at least from the information i can find.

And i understand that ice lake is not comet lake, just to be clear. But there's no real information about comet lake, and since ice lake should theoretically be more advanced then comet lake (they've put more effort into ice lake, comet lake is more of a "well, we need to release something") then i'd expect that it'd be worse in regards to hardware mitigations, but at best the same, which again, does not have hardware mitigations for them all.

You know what comets do? They hurtle aimlessly through space then crash. Pretty much what 14nm should have done 2 years ago.

I never said mitigations for everything, but when 8700K came out we had no idea it will have some mitigations but it did, then 9900K came out and it had some extra mitigations.
Its a hot issue for intel, they will include some mitigations for sure, especially if they speed related, they been losing to R3900x in Work Benchmark, 2 extra cores and higher boots will defnetly help but mitigations will help more by booting morale.
If I had a certain date that they come out in September or October I would of dropped my Ryzen 3000 purchase 80% and just got the top Intel, but i have time until September anyway, unless people convince me to get 12 core over 16 core ill be waiting for 16 core.
BTW, if Intels leak becomes reality and they announce it publicly, just like with NAVI and SUPER, AMD will lower the prices to match and beat intel, maybe even lowering the 16 core to 699$ Round

"12-lane MIPI CSI-2" is an image sensor interconnect, which would use 2-3 pins per lane (differential signal pair plus separate or embedded clock), depending on the physical interface (C-PHY or D-PHY). Thats 30-40 pins in total, not 8.

Most of the pins in a CPU socket are Vcc (+5V power), power ground (GND/VSS), and reserved/not connected (RSVD) - see LGA1151 vs LGA 1151v2 comparison image.
Better manufacturing process may reduce power requirements and allow reassigning some of these pins for different purposes in a new socket.

PS. LGA 1200 seems more likely though.

Well do not bet any money on it, since there are industry reports of chip vendors skipping PCIe 4.0 and going directly to PCIe 5.0 (which of course would be backwards compatible with PCIe 4.0), and Intel Xe graphics team is even talking about fast-tracking to PCIe 6.0 - because it keeps the same bus clock and electrical specifications, so the usual 2x bandwidth gain comes from more efficient PAM-4 encoding used by 200G/400G Ethernet protocols.

Then again there is M.2, SD Express and XQD/CFexpress all using the PCIe physical protocol directly, and now USB4/Thunderbolt3 and DisplayPort 2.0 which are built on top of the ThunderBolt protocol (which is effectively an external version of PCIe).

I'd say 2022-2023 is the year PCIe 6.0 should be broadly available, so get yourself prepared for NVMe 2 SSDs having 20-30 GByte/s transfer speed and 10m IOPs, and vanilla USB flash drives and flash memory cards cards hitting 5-6 GByte/s.

looks too competitive to be intel lol

no K models? so they all can oc? but now they want to sell more chipsets again... and no pcie4, seems kinda pointless; same or less cores with same ipc as AMD but its team greedy instead, also potentially gimped features as usual

if their brand survives till then, sure thing AMD will be back to square one, sadly, thats how market works, aggregation theory is quite the curse

    Same here honestly.

Glad to see i'm not the only one using the ignore function, and it seems like our common friend has followed my advice too.

Would not it be better to find common grounds on something else than "dislike"?

Honestly, i might sound a bit cold here, but i'm not interested in making new friends, i'm just here to discuss about stuff i like and care about, and trying to offer my knowledge on something someone may not know, and hopefully learn something from someone who knows something better than i do.
