Not really. The refreshed chip from the info we have is not a die shrink, so there won't be any higher clocks. Nintendo has already confirmed for 2019 and first half of 2020 there is no new Switch hardware coming.
I think you didn't read the entirety of the "article", i read higher clocks and lower power consumption, so does not matter if it's not a die shrink. Has Nintendo confirmed that a new switch is not comming after the first half of 2020? As far as i remember Switch launched much later than Nvidia shield launch, so yes this corroborates with the rumours, it might not happen tomorrow, but i never said it will anwyay. Nintendo confirmed with their Holiday line up, Nvidia releasing any other product has nothing to do with Nintendo launching their console. But I don't see this as meaning for a Switch Pro, the Switch already runs the X1 based chip at lower clocks not only for battery life but also for heat.
Any half decent android device today has 6GB of RAM. I would expect that nVidia's refreshed chip for improved console would do same.
Yes for everyday use like a phone or tablet, but it's an "under TV" box and not a real gaming console, it's enough for streaming from PC or game portal, watching OCS, Netflix etc etc... To have seen Apple TV 4K in those exercice with also 3g and less powerfull hardware, i am very confident anbout this new version of Shield TV, 3g won't be a problem at all.
The existing shield (2017 model) does 4K x265 streaming just fine already - I'm not sure it really needs anything else on the performance side of things at the moment
Yeah unless you're gonna run games directly on the shield I don't really see what upgrade it would need.
