Here's some new footage, from Rock Paper Shotgun. Looks like Id is going completely nostalgic on us, as it seems they are really trying to resurrect the original Doom games in several areas. I can also see the engine improvements they were talking about with IdTech 7. The texture detail and overall quality is definitely a major step up from Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein II.
Game of E3 so far for me. gameplay looks awesome. glad they showed gameplay since microsoft conference showed none of that.
Look quite good. I've still not played (other than the demo) the last game yet, never seems cheap enough for some reason. It is on game pass, but don't know how that version holds up to the PC.
Ehm.. the game has been as cheap as 10 euro/dollars on multiple occasions and platforms and if that's not cheap enough, I don't know what is I payed full price for it, but don't even mind it, because it is one hell of a good game!
I am quite cheap when it comes to games these days, i'm also quite patient. I was looking for sub £10, and while it is on my wishlist i may have missed that sale.
That gameplay trailer looked soooo good... but I swear if I see an Arch-Vile I will IDDQD from here to all Eternity!

Yeah, it was gamepad gameplay. Remember Quakecon's footage, they had separate footage for the mouse and keyboard demo. And it was much faster. Also, keep in mind, glory kills and other actions... are slowed down in trailers and presentations so they can be seen easier. In game, they run much faster.
i see nothing different graphics wise to doom 2016 to suggest paying 500 usd for a top end graphics card....
Doom eternal looks much better than 2016, remember your watching crappy compressed streaming video. You can see the enemies look loads more detailed along with the ability to blow chunks out of them (higher poly count) and the map detail and geometry have been dialled up to 11. I think you see the difference quite clearly when gaming on a big screen @ 4k. Also RTX support may come to the PC version as Youngblood supports it. They have at least 4 more months dev work left so who knows what they might add / change in that time.
I never said or even implied that you need a $500 card to play the game so I don't know where you got that from All I said was that the engine improvements that Id made with IdTech 7 compared to IdTech 6 are noticeable, especially in terms of openness and texture quality.
