Yeah it's not just that it's expertly made, but also the fact that this all really happened gives everything added weight that you just don't get in pure fiction. I was too young to remember any of it but I think my dad told me we had to take iodide pills and I think we had to stay indoors for a week(in Norway). We were the most affected country outside Soviet. The radiation is still in our soil, but weakened.
I can't recommend this enough, I've watched all 6 episodes on BBC iPlayer and haven't been disappointed which surprises me as its not the sort of show I would normally watch but I'm glad I gave it a chance + the cast is brilliant and the humour is well timed!
Yea I just finished the last episode of Chernobyl too. Man what a brilliant mini series! Hands down the best one I've ever seen.
Totally binge watching Lucifer, close to the end of season 3. Man the writers for this show are brilliant and damn, I wish I had Lucifer's lifestyle.
For a different twist on the heaven and hell saga take a look at this series based on a book co written by the late great terry Pratchett.
I tried the Pilot but after about halfway through I had to turn it off, just wasn't for me as I couldn't tell if the show was for kids or adults. The humour just sort of felt childish in a bad way but I might re-try it one day with a different mindset.
I've only watched the first episode myself and I am on the same page, Iam going to give the next episode a go and see where it heads. I haven't read the book itself but I am a massive fan of the Discworld series and you can see Pratchett's influence... weirdly though only in the little snippets here and there were the narrator does some plot filling.
Brian Greene has a new special on Einstein out now. It can be seen online until the end of the month: https://www.pbs.org/video/light-falls-qicfxv/ Use Hola or another vpn service if you live outside the U.S.
It was ok. I didn't like all the flashbacks and the super condensed storyline. Honestly it felt like the movie was made for the cast and crew and not so much for the audience. This show needs a season to breathe, but it was nice to get an ending at least.
Out of the three new Black Mirror episodes I was not impressed at all by the episode "Smithereenes." There was never any kind of Wow factor that almost all of the other episodes have. However the other two: Striking Vipers and Rachel, Jack, and Ashley were were a total mind trip!

Season 2 of Dark came out yesterday. I wasn't crazy about how the last season ended but gonna give it a try nonetheless.
