People here shout about power consumption all the time, as if it is the major factor which can make or break a product .
Well, it can be sometimes tied to cards thermal properties, but other than that in real world doesnot matter much.
What matters a lot , is this. The die size, atleast to AMD/NVIDIA, from economic point of view . I hope AMD can pull off another HD4870 which just crushed those overpriced gtx260 with a way smaller die area.

They crushed GTX280 back then :p (I still have one ;))
But after this i switched to ATI HD5850 or x70 (don't remeber) -> That was a Beast (First DX11 GPU in the World)
Very good & aggresive pricing BTW (The Deal You can't refuse )

AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Series Announced For Apple Mac Pro, Includes 7nm Dual Vega 20 Powered Radeon Pro Vega II Duo
    – Up To 128 GB HBM2 Memory With 1 TB/s Bandwidth & 56.8 TFLOPs Compute Power

AMD has just announced their latest AMD Radeon Pro Vega II and AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo graphics for Apple’s latest Mac Pro.
The latest graphics cards from AMD will be based on the new 7nm process node, offering higher performance with much better efficiency than the currently available 14nm based Radeon Pro Vega graphics.AMD has introduced two graphics cards for the Apple Mac Pro lineup.

Both are using their latest Vega 20 GPU which was currently available on the Radeon VII graphics cards and now aiming the Radeon Pro market. It utilizes the Vega 20 GPU architecture which is a refinement of Vega itself on a 7nm process node.
The two products in the 7nm Radeon Pro lineup for Mac Pro include the dual chip powered Radeon Pro Vega II Duo and the single chip powered Radeon Pro Vega II.

Some key capabilities and features of AMD Radeon Pro Vega II GPUs include:

    • Leading-edge compute performance – The AMD Radeon Pro Vega II GPU delivers up to 14 TFLOPS of single-precision FP32 performance and up to 28 TFLOPS of half-precision FP16 performance.
    • Support for Infinity Fabric Link GPU interconnect technology – With up to 84GB/s per direction low-latency peer-to-peer memory access, the scalable GPU interconnect technology enables GPU-to-GPU communications up to 5X faster than PCIe Gen 3 interconnect speeds.
    • Ultra-fast HBM2 memory – 32GB of high-speed HBM2 memory delivers 1TB/s memory bandwidth, providing the memory capacity and data transfer speeds required by today’s high-resolution, multi-display setups, 8K video, and other demanding content creation workloads.
When it comes to specifications, we will start with the single chip variant which is based on the full 64 CU enabled Vega 20 GPU and houses 4096 stream processors.
The chip has a max rated clock of 1.7 GHz and can deliver a peak throughput of 14.2 TFLOPs (FP32). The chip makes use of an infinity fabric with transfer speeds of 84 GB/s.
The chip also comes with HBM2 stacked DRAM with up to 32 GB in capacity, operating at 1 TB/s alongside a 4096-bit wide bus interface.

The dual-chip variant has twice of everything of the single-chip variant. AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo is the first dual-chip Radeon offering on the high-end platform but aimed at the Pro market. The graphics card has 128 CUs (64 Per GPU) which make up 8192 stream processors.
The card will carry 64 GB of HBM2 VRAM and can deliver up to 28.3 TFLOPs of Compute performance in single precision workloads.Apple and AMD have also developed a new type of connector module for the latest Mac Pro series.

Known as the MPX Module, the platform starts with an industry-standard PCI Express connector. Then, for the first time in a GPU, additional PCIe lanes were created to integrate Thunderbolt and provide the increased capability.
With up to 500 watts, the MPX Module has power capacity equivalent to that of the entire previous-generation Mac Pro.

So you can essentially have a Radeon Pro II Vega Duo with two single-chip based cards or if you’re looking for even higher performance,
you could just plug in two Radeon Pro Vega II Duo graphics card and get 128GB of HBM2 VRAM, 56.8 TFLOPs of FP32 Compute and 112.8 TFLOPs of half-precision Compute performance which is just insane.

Microsoft adds Variable Refresh Rate (FreeSync) support to all DX11 games in Windows 10

Microsoft has announced that it has added a new toggle in Graphics Settings for variable refresh rate in the latest version of Windows 10, Windows 10 Version 1903.
This option will allow you to have variable refresh rates in all DX11 games in full-screen mode, regardless of whether a game was previously compatible with VRR or not.
    As Microsoft noted:

“This new OS support is only to augment these experiences and does not replace them. You should continue to use FreeSync / Adaptive-Sync normally.
This toggle doesn’t override any of the settings you’ve already configured in the FreeSync or Adaptive-Sync control panels.
This new toggle enables VRR support for DX11 full-screen games that did not support VRR natively, so these games can now benefit from your VRR hardware.”

In order to take advantage of this new setting, you’ll need Windows Version 1903 or later, a
FreeSync or Adaptive-Sync capable monitor and a GPU with WDDM 2.6 or above drivers that supports FreeSync/Adaptive-Sync and this new OS feature.

    ==

Some History (who's first?), First Was VESA for DP connection.
But VRR was invented even earlier according to Wiki...

VESA® Adds ‘Adaptive-Sync’ to Popular DisplayPort™ Video Standard
New Technology Enables Smoother Gaming, Lower Power and
Efficient Display of Content Rendered at a Wide Range of Frame Rates —

NEWARK, CA (12 May 2014) – The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA®) today announced the addition of ‘Adaptive-Sync’ to its popular DisplayPort™ 1.2a video interface standard.
This technology delivers several important capabilities to computer users: Adaptive-Sync provides smoother, tear-free images for gaming and judder-free video playback. It also significantly reduces power consumption for static desktop content and low frame rate video.

Jim Ryan, CEO of the Playstation division, revealed in an interview that the Playstation 5 can display 3,840 x 2,160 pixels at 120 Hz.
It also promises a seamless transition when changing. Savegames of the PS4 should also be able to load on the successor.

The Playstation 5 seems to stand out clearly from its predecessor.
At least that's what Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony's Playstation division, says. In an interview, he announced that the console, without the name Playstation 5 confirm, can display games in 4K resolution up to 120 Hz.

Ryan also once again stated that the Playstation 5 and the Playstation 4 are not different ecosystems.
So you could seamlessly switch from the Playstation 4 to their successor, without giving up his games for it. Even games and settings are compatible with each other.
Anyway, everything is synchronized via the cloud.

The topic of Virtual Reality is still on the radar, but I have to imagine anything - even a successor to Playstation VR.
The technology as such still has potential and, Sony believes, a future in the entertainment industry.

As for the 4K mentioned above at 120 Hz, one has to keep in mind, of course, that this is a theoretical construct.
Individual tracks may offer both, but the view towards PC gaming shows that even high-end graphics cards with 4K and high frame rates are still difficult - at least for current titles. In addition, 4K is not equal to 4K, as Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox One X have sufficiently proven.
Often, the image is simply scaled up from a lower resolution (dynamic).
Even the 8K standing in the room are more than unrealistic against the background. Compared to 4K, the resolution would quadruple again.

AMD Navi: South Korean NRRA certified five versions of Navi GPUs.

The South Korean NRRA Agency has certified five AMD graphics card designs, which should be navi models. To what extent they differ remains to be seen.
Typically, AMD releases two different expansion levels with a fully-enabled GPU and a partially clipped one.
With it also OEM versions could be.

In July, AMD will release its first graphics cards based on Navi. Specific details will be given earlier at the E3 Next Horizon Gaming event on the night of Monday through Tuesday, including how the first models will look.

There is called the "model" D18206 with the "derived names" D18205, D18208, D18202 and D18207. That means: a total of five different variants.
The certification was just made on the 5th of June.
The familiar in the hardware environment Twitter user Komachi brought the D182-ID in April with Navi in touch (via pcgamesn.com ).

Five IDs do not have to stand for five different Navi graphics cards

Five different versions sound like a lot first. However, the specification does not necessarily mean that AMD plans to release five different Navi graphics cards.
Usually, the chip manufacturer brings to the launch of a new graphics chip two different stages of development on the market.
One uses the fully activated GPU, the other slightly castrated with less usable shader units. So AMD can sell the fully functional chips for a higher price and does not have to throw away the worse ones.
An exception was the Radeon VII, which is the only retail model with partially deactivated Vega 20 - the full-fledged GPUs come on the Radeon Instinct MI60.

In the case of the Radeon RX Vega 64, AMD offered three different reference models - two different Air versions and, in addition, the Liquid Cooled Edition.
This seems unlikely with Navi, since the peak performance of the Radeon VII should be reserved.
It would be conceivable that OEM variants are included directly, which are sold separately.

    GPU Range

Now at this point, I can already envision some of questioning this as a reliable source. South Korea has, however, regularly proven itself to be one of the first main focal points of not only hardware but also upcoming game leaks.
For example, the recent Ghostbusters game remaster announcement first became public due to a South Korean age application.

So, what does the application suggest?
Well, put simply, that we can possibly expect at least five graphics card releases from their upcoming Navi 5000 range. Is it too early to call it a range?…

    What Does This Mean?
While this is certainly not confirmation that they’ll be five cards in the series, it does point significant towards one major factor.
Namely, that we can expect a lot more than just the revealed 5700 design. That shouldn’t, however, be overly surprising to you. The 5XX series did, after all, see around 3 main variants. More if you include refreshes.

While all five variants are generally similar (based on the Vega 20 design), there are enough RDNA graphics silicon variants, however, suggest that we can expect a relatively solid range of products here.

    ===
    Note:
IMhO it will be 5750,5780 and then 5800 follow it's path (similar to HD4xxx & HD5xxx/6xxx)
Some of the AdoredTV Leaks are true (i have my own source).
We can hope for Vega64 performance at affordable price points.
Polaris is at End -> Long live the Navi....

    Radeon-Rays

Radeon-Rays is a GPU intersection acceleration library with basic support for heterogeneous systems.
AMD developed Radeon-Rays to help developers get the most out of AMD GPUs and CPU or APUs, as well as save them from maintaining hardware-dependent code. Radeon-Rays exposes a well-defined C++ API for scene construction and performing asynchronous ray intersection queries.
The current implementation is based on OpenCL, which means Radeon-Rays supports execution on all platforms conforming to the OpenCL 1.2 standard. It is not limited to AMD hardware or a specific operating system.
Radeon-Rays can be easily distributed and through its API helps assure compatibility and best performance across a wide range of hardware platforms.

    Radeon-Rays 2.0 brings new features:

Some key features are now available to everyone
    • Performance improvements on FATBVH for fast BVH
    • Support for geometry and ray masks
    • Ray filtering support
    • Calc abstraction computation layer for low level API support

    -> https://gpuopen.com/gaming-product/radeon-rays/

AMD has been doing RT development for almost 3 years now they are all about open source and RT that works on any H/W.

3DMARK Port Royal update hints at new Ray Tracing Hardware/Drivers

UL Benchmarks has released a new update for 3DMARK Port Royal, the company's DXR compliant Ray Tracing benchmarking tool.
While the update will not impact benchmark scores, the update is designed to "improve compatibility with upcoming hardware and drivers", suggesting that new DXR compatible hardware is coming.

This begs the question, who is making new DXR complainant hardware and drivers. The obvious answer here is AMD, who plans to release their new Navi series of graphics cards in July.
Sony has already confirmed that their Navi-based next-generation PlayStation will feature support for ray tracing, making it more than possible for AMD to have ray tracing IP in the works.
What remains to be seen is whether or not this IP will be used in their early desktop Navi GPUs.

AMD plans to reveal more about their upcoming products at their AMD Next Horizon Gaming event at E3 2019, which is due to take place on Monday, June 10th.
The times for this event for the US, UK and Europe, alongside the dates and times of other E3 press conferences.
AMD will reveal the full capabilities of Navi, which might include Ray Tracing.

Alternatively, Nvidia could be planning to release new RTX series graphics cards, with their rumoured "SUPER" series reportedly bringing updated versions of the RTX series to the market. These rumoured cards are too similar to existing RTX series graphics cards to require extensive changes to 3DMARK,
making it more likely that this "DirectX 12 resource handling" update is focused on a different graphics card maker.
