Brought a 2TB external HDD and I can only save 111GB worth of data.. Have check the disk management and there is no unallocated space there.. Have format it both via NTFS and FAT32 and its still doing the same... Note: If you check the properties of the HDD, its showing 1.81TB

If u try to quick format using system it takes hours unless u use ur fine and format, unplug then connect again.... Is a driver missing or what

Delete the volume in disk manager.
    Create as NTFS
    Format it.

    Otherwise, return for replacement.

Sounds like the drive firmware is damaged.

Probably not, there is an alternative possibility, do you have any partition manager software installed?

some older ones might have installed a file system filter that is causing this.

What USB drivers have you installed, and is this an advanced sector drive?

Also none of your pictures show exactly what the problem you're having is, since they show your full volume is correctly partitioned and all TB's are available.

    Your motherboard is the problem.
It does not detect as 2TB.
    Check for latest mobo BIOS.

bios has nothing to do with external drive support once in the OS.

chek your hdd on other mb. if it will be fine then it is your mb.check usb cable, don't use front usb ports. if u have asrock mb try to install ASRock 3TB+ Unlocker. but it looks like hdd damaged. for formatting and deleting/creating partions i use minitool partition wizard soft. it's free and if doesn't help i put hdd away.

First off, what OS are you running? EaseUS has a nice free partition manager that would probably help shed some light on this situation, because doing a format does not wipe out the existing partition setup. You need to delete the existing partitions completely first, then make a new one. Then format it.

Perhaps the drive is 4K, and your system is not handling it properly.
