I took the dive to windows 10 a few weeks back on this rig....it was free upgrade still.
I was waiting on some kind of payment from/to them but they just upgraded my win7 pro to win10 pro an all is activated? ....I used the upgrade tool.

It makes you wonder who the product is in this situation.

By any chance, have you ever used your Windows 7 product key to upgrade to Windows 10 during the first year launch of it, when it was for free?
Once activated, the product key remains eligible for future Windows 10 versions past that free time period.

It's pretty much the circle of Battle Royale, that's slowing closing in on Windows 7 users.

Looking forward to comments once they're forced to switch.

    My popcorn is ready!

That's what people said about Windows XP. Nowadays, people only have an XP setup for old games and archaic hardware/tools. Windows 7 will have the same fate. It won't be obsoleted as quickly as XP, but it also didn't have as many diehard fans.

Just don't choke on your popcorn when your Win10 suddenly decides to reboot for "urgent" update XD

Win7 is superior OS in any way than Win10. I watch your ':(' from the higher ground. Your threatening and increased blood pressure is signs of your weakness and poor OS that you are behind.

Admit HUGE victory of WIN7 and begone filthy Win10 user.

Win7 > Win10 forever. No wonder you don't have likes, cause your Win10 holds your back! We Win7 users have many likes and we LOVE winning. Unlike you Filthy win10 users that everybody hate.
Go feed M$ on M$ store. It wants your money NOW!

    Someone is slighty triggered.

No, not me. I'm using Windows 10 after all for 3 years without any major i

    You're right.

Windows 7 is the best OS after all, especially after 2020 when they continue to release security fixes.
    A-ha!

So you ARE going to use Windows 10 after all, while it's still in Early Access in 2025.

Or you could install Linux, i heard 10 years ago it was gonna be a Windows killer.

I have to admit Windows 7 was so successful MICROSOFT gave out free upgrades for Windows10 and still they were struggling with users upgrading. That's bad lol. It's like a car company trying to give you a new car and people still decline.

  18. Good grief......it's just an OS update people. It happens. Your upgrade path will eventually include a new OS, or you will no longer be able to use newer features of hardware and software. It can be a pain getting settled into a new OS, but you will get there. I am no lover of windows 10. In fact, as a network admin, it has caused me some real headaches from time to time, but that's IT. The answer is not staying in the past. Just as you do with your car, your coffee maker, your lawn mower......when it is worn out, and it no longer makes sense to repair it from a value perspective, you replace it. As much as i liked win7 (and xp) it was starting to show its age (just like xp). With windows 10, You can take out cortana. You can take out the windows store. Chances are you can alter your install to exclude every feature about windows 10 that you do not like. Past that, yeah it looks different.

Oh, the good old days when Microsoft had about 12 employees and everyone was using Compuserve! I had a 300 baud modem and loved my Amiga 500.

Windows 10 LTSB (LTSC now) isn't too bad. Though Microsoft hates people using those (due to their lack of spyware) and makes it very hard to legitimately acquire them. Even their articles on LTSC basically beg you not to use it and to use SAC instead lol.
