https://www.facebook.com/ChernobyliteGame/ Back in 2016, The Farm51 released a Chernobyl based VR title, and since then have always maintained a very strong interest in the location. When the studio finished up Get Even and moved resourced to their online FPS "World War 3", a lot of the studios art teams and other members traveled back to the Chernobyl exclusion zone to 3d map the location, buildings, basements... take pictures and explore the location. This is very early in development, but it's something I'm already very interested in. And, before it's asked, they've already come forward and said this will not be a "STALKER style title". They are putting their own spin on the setting, and will be trying to tell an engaging, emotional and gripping horror story. I've enjoyed most of The Farm51's titles, with NecroVisioN being flawed but great. Deadfall being a lot of fun, if not really stupid. Get Even really surprised me with it's deep story and wonderful voice acting. I know this is a ways out, but, I can't wait to see what these guys do with this.
Sounds good! Kinda OT yet related: how did you like the gameplay in Get Even? It's on my list to keep an eye on but some (most?) reviews stated that while the game has promise and an interesting setting the actual gameplay was tedious.
So far, the gameplay feels a little clunky. It's not bad, but you can tell they were trying more then just a straight forward run and gun style game. And, it's just kind of rough around the edges.
April 26, 1:23 hours Ukrainian time. At the moment, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster took place. The molten core of burning reactor No. 4 mixed with other chemicals and produced a highly radioactive material that can only be found in Chernobyl. It was called Chernobylite. "Chernobylite" is a computer game of the survival-horror genre, which takes place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Conspiracy, horror, survival, love and obsession. It's all in the form of a non-linear, interactive story, playing with the concepts of truth and lies, reality and fiction, science and fantasy. 30 years after the Chernobyl disaster in Zona, events are beginning to happen that could not happen anywhere else in the world. And that should not happen anywhere. It's not about how to face your own fears. The point is to survive them. CONCEPT ART TEASER http://www.thefarm51.com/projekt/chernobylite/ LOOKING DAMN NICE!!
It does look interesting! Link to the English version of the page: http://www.thefarm51.com/eng/projekt/chernobylite-2 There's many lower budget horror games out there, but very few that are actually any good. Most end up feeling like a meme rather than a proper horror game... Let's hope this isn't one of them.
Steam Page~ https://store.steampowered.com/app/1016800/Chernobylite/ Hopefully it doesn't get exclusive'd off..... if that's a word..
I like the look of the game, however take a look at the concept art. Then take a look at this, which looks more like an in game screen shot (obviously photoshopped). Where has that awesome DOF gone? Where is that green tint gone? It looks a little too clean for a nuclear waste land. Still going to keep and eye on this one though, we need more STALKER/Metro like games. Just that its Farm51 doing it and hopefully its not the same team doing this who is doing World War 3. That game was a complete let down and had some of the worst movement system/mechanics in any fps game. Spoiler: screenshot
I believe in Ranch 51. Clean attitude is like the Japanese. Bluestacks Kodi Lucky Patcher.. buckle down.. bust ass... what's more, get things done in view of flawlessness. Ranch 51 will come through. It's only not in the Clean childhood to shoddy anything, trust me.
I like UE4 games but they generally run better on nvidia cards. Anyway looking forward to this game. Interested what will come of it.
The Farm51 have also started a Kickstarter for Chernobylite, so they can expand on the original concept of the game and deliver a larger experience.
From the comments of that kickstarter by developer Farm51 "We're already on Steam and we are going to stay there. Any other platforms may appear later in non-exclusive manner."
