https://www.hardocp.com/article/2019/03/19/goodbye_hardocp_hello_intel/ All the best at Intel Kyle, and thanks for all your work at [H]ardOCP.
Interesting... well, too bad we lose another reviewer tbh, but not much to be done about it. I do have to admit though, I wasn't a regular on their site.
I don´t know about you guys but this kinda of moves makes me feel uneasy about the unbiased/biased stance of tech sites and their reviewers. In the back of my mind there´s always this feeling that the persons had already agreed some type of compromise with the companies they are reviewing their products and a couple of years after they finally leave for those same companies... And of course the reviews about those products are subjected to special treatment from them... Hilbert please tell me you are not leaving Guru3d for Nvidia or something like that!...
The written tech media is being displaced by youtubers. Intel is looking to pick these people up because they are in-tune with the community - so they know what will go over well and won't.
What other site is available for decent psu reviews? Kyle has not had one for a awhile but always looked there first about potential buys.
IMO Kyle / Hardocp has always been a reference for non biased opinions about hardware. He was not afraid to piss off Nvidia or intel (even AMD) when they asked for it! As stated above they were my main source of info for quality PSUs reviews. Glad for him though. Luckly we still have Hilbert and Guru3d. ;-).
Ahh Hilbert would cave if he was chucked a suitcase of money lol, no more than any of us tbh, money talks. All the best to Kyle, ill miss that site( i know theyre continuing but it wont be the same )
I didnt visit that forum for ages. As i get older i only visit Guru3D. Hopefuly it will stay like that for a long time.
What I do not get why anyone would care about some old guy getting a new job.Why would he even tell anyone he is leaving his site for another job.If the site is so good sell it ,I say good riddance I will not miss the site even though I go there everyday
Director of Enthusiast Engagement for Intel’s Technology Leadership Marketing It would be ironic if they did. For example. If Hilbert gave up on Guru3D you'd rather him just vanish instead of telling us why? I think I can speak for many here, we'd like to know.
This guy did an outstanding job. I give him credit for this. His new job is pretty close to be the same but on the other side of the fence. ;-)
