What are the card clocks and temps? Also what driver You are using?

 

It happened to me.. today i tried the new driver 19.3.1 and I was unable to run metro bench or play R6Siege, clocks was jumping around 1000-1700 and even lower (400mhz).. so I`m back to 18.12.1

 

I can't do such score (cuz of CPU & PSU limitations i can run my Vega at 1760MHz (P7 at 1800MHz) NP at 1.150mV which is Great)

"First you have to understand that Vega 10/20 cards are advertised to run at their second highest power state all the time while the "peak boost" is their highest power state which is 1750Mhz on the Vega 64. The throttling temp is 65C on the liquid bios. The LC bios advertised speed is 1668Mhz so if you are getting higher than 1668Mhz than you are exceeding the advertised frequency.

I've only found 1 way to bug it to run P7 all the time without fluctuations and the performance gain is massive and it's only temporary. The reason the cards can't run at P7 all the time is since they will use 364w all the time even when undervolted which the AIO wasn't designed for. As you can see from my video the card is running at 1800Mhz @ 1.25v with a single 360mm rad and it's at 46c with the Gentle Typhoon fans @ 2250RPM. Same goes for the Air cooled version, it wasn't designed to run at 330w all the time."

How did you found that bug to run P7 state all the time? Would like to try it out.

 

It's not mine (it's @WannaBeOCer from overclock.net)
But it's not a bug <- It's bug that can occur after flashing (guy just calrifies it), GPU will boost to P7 when needed.
Keep in mind that is nice to have 120-144Hz monitor
No FRT or Chill
It must be cool, and You need to have adjusted POW slider to 50% (best is to have Unlocked POW then even 100% is possible)
Also You need 1000-1200W PSU (Plati or Gold)

Note:
From my experience (tested week ago or so in FS/TS)
I've set P7 to 1806MHz w/1.150v and +25% POW
Redings done by ReLive, and it boosted often to 1760MHz ! almost peaked 190FPS in GT1 (i can assume that my XTX can do ~1760MHz @ 1.150mV with peak Power of ~300tW)
So if i put 1.2v it can surpass 1800MHz easily, but again i don't have Amperage (PSU is 750W only) to do such a OC.

OMG -> we all have some hefty headroom in Our Vega GPUs

 

Well I have Corsair RMx1000w PSU, also a custom loop with EK waterblock on CPU and GPU 360x38mm (3x12cm fans) t and 280x45mm (2x140cm).
Benching Metro at full fans peed, my HotSpot stays 60-62C. Core and HBM2 around 40-42c.
Also 144Hz 1440p monitor as well. So tech should be there to benefit.

 

^^ So next step is to Play with settings.
Try:
P6 at 1650MHz 1.075v
P7 at 1800MHz 1.2v
HBM2 at 1120-1150MHz 937v/975v
Test & give us some info (HWinfo64 during test?)

 

Lets not forget that we also have the soft power play to go with like the vega 56 to 240% powertarget . cof 1000w psu cof

Now I revert back to Default Clocks and reduced the voltage to 1,050. It keeps the clocks @1575, and temp dropped to 63°C max.

I'll keep going to see where it ends, but it looks like I got a good Card!

 

Just to compare with rx480 1420mhz and 2090 memory timmings 2 1080p extreme 2700 score.

So your score with duble the performance

Put that under water and if samsung hbm put the 64 biso

 

Yeah Vega is trouncing Polaris. Im jealous.

the codes for the ones that are coming is a vega code, 20 compute units with 128 shaders vs 64 of the vega 1 and 7nm

 

So just picked up a Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64. I've been reading up on different sites and researching. I'm having an odd issue that cant seem to get an answer for. Anytime I overclock the card to 1727mhz or higher on State7 I will get a spike that crashes the driver. I was just using the following:

State6- 1650@1050mv
State7- 1732@1094mv
Mem-1100@975mv
PL-20%

Temp- 58c
HBM-64c
HotSpot-69c

Ran Heaven for little over 2 hour loop with a core max of 1680mhz and an avg. of 1652mhz. Then crashed with a spike at 1727mhz. If I keep it under 1700 for State7 then its fine. Am I missing something?

 

Maybe your card isn’t stable at that frequency, or there’s a weird bug on the drivers.
Mine also isn’t stable at over 1700MHz (tried with the Vega 64 LC BIOS).

Yup, i concur.
Keep it at 1717MHz w/1.1mV and try it again.
You don't need more than 1700Mhz for anything BTW (ups perhaps for AC:O )
