So does this mean it's a Win32 game or are they just selling a UWP game through Steam or something?

 

^^^No doubt W10 will be required, so any OS below is out of luck, and it will require a xbox account to play cross platform accross W10 and Xbox....this is epic, Steam and Xbox gamers playing together, what will be next.

Microsoft just announced they have ported DirectX 12 to Windows 7.... so.... hmmm...

ahhh... today is a good day, finally I can properly see the rest of the story after Halo 2.

 

I find the news that it's coming to Steam more surprising than the actual announcement of the PC release.

They had a beta update recently about a "new partner api". Turns out to be xbox live. Damn. Bring it. Please bring FH3 too ... I'll gladly buy it again. I love that game.

 

You will no doubt still require a xbox account to play this as it is a cross platform game between steam and xbox, so if W7 has no way of making one then i doubt it will be playable on anything less than W10, although pc gamers won't require a gold to play online with xbox gamers.

 

Dude if they released the whole Gears of War series on PC it would be awesome.

Maybe it will be the game itself that you sign into, that would be awesome, just needing a Microsoft account to log into the game.

I'm surprised EPIC didn't try to bribe Microsoft to make this an exclusive to their cr@p store.

 

Epic had Metro removed from the MS store despite MS handling the marketing of that game. That and Epic throwing its weight around probably hasn't earned them many friends in the industry. MS is not some two bit indie or a shithole like THQ or Ubi to take what Epic could've offered for Halo (and it would have to be an unreasonable sum anyway).

 

I suppose that is a possibility, no doubt someone on one of the many social media sites will be bombarding 343 to get confirmation if this is a W10 game only, or will it support W7/8 as well.....at present on the the steam page store it states min requirements a 64 bit processor and OS, so a 32 bit OS might not be supported, but i suspect more info will be forth coming judging by the steam forums overloading at the news, lol
