well i guess it good thing this isnt for 1803 yet and Retpoline dont work for skylake?

MS is on roll build updates that get pull multiple times, CU that cause systems to not boot, now updates that kill performance, ( all though I sure the actual fix for flaws actual does drop performance and ms make it worse with how it implemented? )

And people likes to say the beta testing build are kept to the insider builds..

The only issue I noticed with this was really bad frame drops in Subnautica Below Zero, especially on the main menu. I originally put it down to it being early access but sure enough, uninstalling KB4482887 fixed it.

Lets say in raw cpu performance @ 4.7GHz acted as ~4.55-4.6GHz with spectre (100-150MHz overhead), with this retpoline it's back to original performance.

I'm too afraid to uninstall, god knows what it might break.

Windows 98 was great compared to Win 10.

    Which edition?

A memory overflow issue was resolved which in the older version of Windows 98 would crash most systems if left running for 49.7 days (equal to 232 milliseconds)

Surprised to hear you got all of the performance back, rather than just some, it sounds like you might not have done strict before & after tests to verify. I'm not saying you've not seen a performance improvement (because I expect you have seen an improvement), but you evaded my question of whether you did before & after tests (and what they were).

In cpu bound game/benchmarks and 3dmark physics tests.

Hitman, ffxiv capcom (mt) engine, cryengine games, newer batman u3e engine, few synthetic benchmarks like the post above and few more.
It's minimal , but it was consistent enough to say I saw such overhead.

    Workaround
    Ignore the error.
Even better than that: ignore the K(G)Bs, entirely. Each and every update is just a new attempt to improve their ways of spying and controlling "clients'" computers and implementing yet more cunning ways of enforcing their "store"...

I don't think that's a correlation if you had a few billion would you still work? Exceptions like Warren Buffet etc. but for the most part a lot of the billionaires if they still are involved in their companies it's only as a figurehead and don't deal with day to day stuff.

I'm sure his new job as a philanthropist is much more satisfying than his days at MS.

No thanks, far too many fixes that I need in this update. October feature update is buggy as hell.

I want to know how the hell did this happen? In detail. Or are those garbage cans not going to say?
