Same for me, I installed the update on two of my servers (windows server 2019) ones an AMD CPU and the other is Intel, but it doesnt show the retpoline PS line for me.

    @-Tj- Your Speculation Control is out-dated. ;)

For what I can gather some have the line in PS but all that do are false right now, so not sure it is fully set.

    Guys, note:

"Since Retpoline is a performance optimization for Spectre Variant 2, it requires that hardware and OS support for branch target injection to be present and enabled.
Skylake and later generations of Intel processors are not compatible with Retpoline, so only Import Optimization will be enabled on these processors."

    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com...riant-2-with-Retpoline-on-Windows/ba-p/295618

to whom it may concern. So Intel 6000 series and newer don't support Retpoline:

    "Empty RSB Mitigation on Skylake-generation
As described in the Retpoline Concept section, the RSB is a fixed-size stack implemented in hardware.
As with any stack, it can underflow in certain conditions causing undesirable behavior. “RSB stuffing” is a technique to reduce the likelihood of an underflow from occurring.

The predictable speculative behavior of the RET instruction is the key to retpoline being a robust mitigation.

RET has this behavior on all processors which are based on the Intel® microarchitecture codename Broadwell and earlier when updated with the latest microcode.
Processors based on the Intel® microarchitecture codename Skylake and its close derivatives have different RSB behavior than other processors when the RSB is empty.

    ..."

I am on 1809, downloaded latest update KB4482887 and manually enabled "retline" in registry. Tested on Pentium G4600 effects were marginally better than with same update but with "retline" fixes disabled, yet still worse than what you get by disabling patches with "InSpectre" and even more worse than what I had before installing any patch. Tested with SuperPI, perhaps other tests would be more accurate.

Well, yes - according to Microsoft:

I just wrongly named all these optimizations "retpoline" fixes. Still "Import Optimization" seems to have minor impact on G4600.

I used the registry entries for retpoline (skylake) and it disabled the SSBD systemwide protection I had enabled a few days ago. I've not observed any measurable performance increase nor even experienced a placebo effect lol. Meh. The only "boost" came from it auto disabling that security feature I mentioned earlier. Readout from the powershell script is as expected. I'm going to leave it as is and forget about the whole thing.

Yeah, it's a bit weird. It's on on my BWE via adding these registry keys:

    Code:
    BTIKernelRetpolineEnabled : True
    BTIKernelImportOptimizationEnabled : True
    But:

    Code:
Windows OS support for speculative store bypass disable is enabled system-wide: False

I still have C2H microcode for my 6700k, I am so beyond keep up with this crap, MS can push needed stuff or not, Though I pretty sure at this point I will be avoid Intel builds on my next pc if make another one.

Settings->Update->Troubleshoot and then windows update troubleshooter. If that doesn't help then you can try deleting the contents of C:\Windows\Softwaredistribution

You can also try downloading the update manually and run it. http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4482887 Windows 10, x64 applies to you.
