Probably you have installed the DCH driver of Windows 10 via Windows Update.
Clean Install with DDU Uninstaller and try again

He'll need to do a Safe Mode clean install to go from DCH to Standard. Tho I've been using DCH for a few revisions (some version of 399.xx) and it's been ok. Been easier now that the NV driver download page now has a toggle to download the DCH package easily. Had to make my own d/l links to get them, or use GFE, before.

  7. Yes I have seen, but maybe it is one issue of Steam users..
I repeat, I'm playing Metro Exodus through Epic Store and I never had crash with DX12 with my RTX 2080 Ti and this driver release.
In the Metro Exodus support page the only issue is with HDR displays..
    Try yourself and see..
    Regards

I am on steam they should fix it period, but then again i play on dx11 and to me its looks slight sharper then dx12. dx12 is a mess atm.

Gsync still broke with these, whenever my screen goes to sleep I have to reenable Gsync from control panel otherwise games just load in normal mode, this has only just started happening for me since they updated the drivers for freesync monitors so yeah while I'm happy they now support more screens it's not so good they broke support for actual Gsync Monitors! I'm using Acer XB270H

I’ve also had zero crashes with Metro Exodus in the 15 hours I’ve played using DX12, Steam version here as well.

Anyone getting crashes in dx12 need to remember that api stresses system resources more than dx11 so it's likey to show possible instability with the hardware your using - it's probably the only flaw in using a lower level api on a pc.

Worth checking cpu overclocks, memory, psu voltages.

I dislike this driver so much:
    - The card downclocks in games that have lower GPU load which introduces stuttering
    - Makes Apex Legends crash
    - Introduces some flashing of shadows in Apex Legends
    - Generally unstable in games

Downgraded to 417.75 and now everything works so well (except Anthem where I've lost 10 fps).

Yuck...since we're on the same card I might stay away from these drivers especially since rtx and dlss is working fine on metro with 418.81. Do you use ddu in between installs and why did you go back so far? Where 418.81 drivers also giving you issues?

At what resolution and fps? I'm having to keep dlss enabled to keep 60fps at ultra+rtx ultra at 4k. Even though dlss is obviously blurring the image in this game, I can't say I hate it. Still beats lowering the resolution.

Oh yes, used the latest DDU every time.

I think that 418.81 worked fine (it sure did in Anthem at least) but I didn't start my real testing until I upgraded to 418.91 It's a bit of a blur these past days with all the benchmarking and stuff that's been going on but I think I'd like to try 418.81 again for Anthems sake.
