Looks OK. Larger distances between VRMs leave more mass (PCB) to sink and radiate heat from them. Card could clearly have more condensed PCB and that 3rd fan could just blow air through radiator unobstructed by PCB. And they did similar thing in past. Interesting choice, makes me wonder.

I think that in near future we gonna see Games run better and better with AMD's Hardware, Since now- AMD got the Cash to spend on Optimization by Game Dev's, Lisa was asked about it and how this Cash-flow helps Radeon and she explained that it Helps them to work with Game Developers to start optimizing for their GPU's, this cost $$$$ and finally they are at place that they can afford it.

Nice! I have a feeling it is going to stay really cool from the looks of it. Looking forward to the review late night/early morning, thanks Hilbert as always.

One thing is for sure this will be the first Desktop GPU to run RE2 Remake on Ultra Textures with out going into the red :) , I still don't know what that game is doing that it eats so much video memory.

Hopefully we see a full die version of this card and prices will drop on the at some point in the near future.

So we can easily add +15-25% FPS above Vega 64 LC at ~220-240tW (BIOS Board TDP is at 264tW 0% Power Slider, like with Vega 64)
    Those 1TB/s is just awesome, for 1440p & 4k.

    Can't wait for HH's review!!

As a few others mentioned If possible to check undervolting performace too, that would be great! :)

Surprised we havent seen the MI50 tested or reviewed on the web yet (released last November?). As that may have given us an indication of some sort as to the thermals or other performance characteristics vs the R VII.

edit: the MI50 is passively cooled, no fans. Guess gaming workloads are far more intensive than pro applications.

Think about this 16GB HBM2 card and the future Navi based cards with Freesync 2 HDR 10(and the future HDR 12) playing Cyberpunk 2077 (maybe will be on DX12),GTA VIce or Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC on glorious 4K+ HDR 10 monitor.
More pressure on devs to have HDR 10 implemented in their games will make gamers happy.

If Radeon VII will be on par with RTX 2080 after 6 months of optimized driver then everyone will be happy. :)

One thing I noticed is the radeon badging on the side covers exhaust area for the cooler. Hope that doesn't effect anything. Overall great looking card.

Steve from gamers nexus mentioned that and how it wont be abstracting airflow. He also said how nvidia is doing the same.

That PCB has 'workstation' written all over it.

I wonder if another brand will release a NANO version? Lots of empty space on the that PCB but otherwise looking forward to Hilbert's review.

Hilbert are you allowed to comment on the double precision 64 bit compute speed?
Some say its full M150 speed and other say it is limited to 1/4 or 1/8 speed, to not compete with the M150.

It's 1:8 - AMD confirmed it to Ryan Smith.

It's a gaming targeted card, so obviously they have limited fp64 perf not to canabilize the Pro range. By how much you'll be able to read in the review. Well what do you know, look at what Denial wrote there.

    @Hilbert Hagedoorn ,
Sir, could u please add an undervolting page or include in the overclocking section ? As we all know by now, vega were excellent @undervolting. Pleasee :)

They appear to be specifically mentioning the graphics creator side of things for these.

8k test per request please, make use of that 16gb hmb2 to good use and really puts tremendous stress on the card, thus, shows off the card what it really can do, if it does 4k 60fps with ease, next step up, put the card even under more stress then compare results, widen the gap even further, yum yum yum...

Speaking of which, if people is interested in 8k in general, even though it is very very extreme minority of people out there such as myself, might want to take a look at this:
