Was about to ask wait what 128rops?

I did say one time before vega vii was announced it would be great if it had 128rops.. ah well..

It's something us AMD owners have been asking for a long time, Fury for example always felt ROP limited

Citation? Everything I've seen for VII says 128 ROPS...

That's actually quite a blow to the cards credentials then. It was definitely in need of more ROPS...

They ended up doing pretty well with the performance over the Vega 64 all things considered. I too originally thought it was 128 rops.

Looks like 4gb cards are uncapable playing this game unless you are at 1080p.

    Nothing to do with capability.

Don't need 8 GB of textures at 1440.

If i understand game options you can set texture via quality and memory allocation (for example High with 0.5GB VRAM). I finished demo in 1440p and locked 60fps with mixed max settings on
R9 Fury. Volumetric Light and Shadow was on High, Textures High + 1GB VRAM.
I didn't notice any streaming issue, maybe because this game is very dark :D
In my feel It looks and works just like RE7 medium texture settings. Game using maxed textures with streaming (remember RAGE? What was bless on consoles was a mess on PC, but not in RE2)
Funny things is about AO in game. HBAO+ looks better and works faster to compare with old-forgotten HDAO. It's more about 20 fps for same scene. Wow.

Hi guys, I recently installed a water block on my Vega 64 Nitro +. I noticed that in Gaming MSI afterburner shows the clocks around 1670 MHZ or so but when I run a Benchmark like Fire Strike I see the card's clock at 1787 MHZ. Is there a reason I see that in 3dMark but not gaming?

Usually, if you block the card at its maximum power state, the lower the GPU usage the lower is its frequency (or at least that’s what happens on my stock 64+waterblock).
And low GPU usage can be caused by low CPU performance.

BTW, your card’s behavior is the opposite of what should happen, because unless you play games without any FPS cap benchmarks stress the GPU more than games.
Another cause could be a FPS cap on the benchmarks, but that’s impossible unless you enable VSync.

Last thing: try Radeon Overlay instead of Afterburner (it’s in the AMD Settings), because Afterburner has some problems with the last drivers, IIRC.

3DMark records odd numbers for the Frequency. One of my runs came out at 1817MHz even though under load it was ~1720MHz. Go on the info you get from HWiNFO64, GPU-z or Afterburner for the frequency.

I am trying to dial in some nice undervolts for my card:
    P5 - 1472MHz - 980mV
    P6 - 1537MHz - 990mV
    P7 - 1613MHz - 1000mV
    Memory - 1050MHz - 980mV
    Power limit +50%

However, ever since I dialed in those much lower voltages, the GPU refuses to clock any higher than ~1520MHz (~185W). Setting P7 to 1100mV boosts clocks to around 1575MHz (~230W).
Why is it behaving so weirdly? I don't get my Vega... UV/OC is sooo strange with this one

P.S. running Vega64 Air BIOS on my reference Vega56

    Make Mem at 0.981mV
You have Valid Votage table in the OP ;)
    Tinker w/Power Limit, try 0%, 12%,15% and last 25%
If wanna Cool&Quiet long sessions Gaming -> try -5% or -8%.

Also Update RIG, Now You have Vega :p

Fully updated! It was basically all outdated lol :D

Anyway, I can't seem to get this card properly working, either with the wattman within radeon settings or with overdriven tool.
Clocks don't surpass ~1520MHz. However, If I set P7 to ~1630MHz (Vega64 stock) at the 1000mV, it instantly crashes. To remain stable at that, I have to set P7 voltage to 1150mV(!), so barely 50mV below stock. I guess I lost the silicon lottery with mine?

^^ That's why i told You to tinker with Power Limit ;)
Before You wrote that it's unstable  (I know Vega to well now)

People with Gold/Plati 850+ (1000W) PSUs don't have this issues, ppl with quality 750W PSUs should not exceed 25% of Power Limit.
All my 3Dmarks at 28k was done with +25% (can't have more with ZEN at 4GHz)

    Well...
I have a Platinum 860W power supply (Corsair AX860i) and I can sustain +50% at stock voltages&clocks easily, no issues, crashes, freezes whatsoever. Just a truckload of power consumption. So that portion isn't an issue surely!

However, once I undervolt the card, without touching clocks, P7 has to stay at ~1150mV or it becomes unstable. If I drop P7 by around 20MHz, I and set all voltages above 1000mV to 1000mV (P4-P7 & Memory P3), clocks drop down to barely 1500MHz with around a 100W drop. But why does it even go down that far? I don't understand...

P.S. i thought of only playing with power limit once i found stable clocks at max fan speeds. And then put a limit on that power (thus temps) and apply a proper fancurve. Finally, verify its fully stable (again)
