This is GeForce HotFix driver version 417.58 that addresses the following:

    • Black screen when resuming from monitor sleep on some DisplayPort monitors
    • Windows 7: FPS drop when G-sync is used with V-sync in games
    • Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Fixes occasional application crash in DirectX 12 mode
    • Fixes black screen on BenQ XL2730 monitor using 144Hz refresh rate
    • Fixes lockup when resuming from sleep on MSI GT83 notebook
    It can be accessed here:

Going to give these a try. Was getting some odd hiccups with 417.35 in BFV and AC Origins with gsync enabled. Will report back if the issue seems fixed.

Is there an easy/fast way to export Program specific 3D settings from Nvidia Control Panel?
It's kinda tiresome to reconfigure my 3D settings for certain games after every driver clean install.

Hopefully the SoTR crash in DX12 is really fixed. I've been sort of using it as an excuse to slack finishing the story. :p

I just tried the driver as well, and I didn't experience that in a 5 minute test at least. Will keep it for now, see what happens.

Best explanation I could find on the web.

    https://www.hardocp.com/news/2018/11/30/introducing_nvidia_control_panel_windows_store_app/

    https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4733

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...evelop/getting-started-with-universal-drivers

It seems that nVidia will allow to have separate install of core driver files and the nVidia Control Panel.
nVidia Control Panel could be downloaded from Windows Store. It seems to be targeted mostly at OEM computers though.

I do not recommend this driver.
SotTR crashed to desktop after 90 minutes or so in middle of the gameplay, which didn't happen with previous official drivers. Also, I had some weird stuttering with this driver, which didn't happen earlier.

I've reverted back to 417.35. I will wait for the next stable official driver.

I always install newer drivers whenever possible (even when they don't have changes that apply to my pc), because it might have important changes we don't know off. Thanks Hilbert. I love to get a heads-up on Guru3D. It's my daily go-to in tech news.

It crashed with the Device Hung error in DX12 before this driver, so perhaps its not quite fixed and just showing differently now.

So, apparently nvidia renamed their driver packages to "hotfix" now!? I didnt see so many hotfix drivers in one year, totally insane whats going on imho. "Early access" now everywhere!?

And seeing reports about Tomb Raider mess theres another coming soon, lol...except, it issnt funny..

Hotfix drivers contain fixes that are already ready for us, so you don't have to wait till the next game-ready driver. I don't see why this is a bad thing.

You could just ignore them and only use main driver releases, and move on with your life, you know.
They don't openly advertise the Hotfix drivers either, you have to go specifically digging for them. Or you know, read forums like this one. They have a specific purpose, provide fixes to specific problems sooner then the next major release.

I don't get people that complain that there is more driver releases now then there used to be. If you don't want to update as often, then just don't. But what exactly is the problem with more drivers otherwise? In the past you would just have to wait longer for fixes to make the next main driver.
