Just got a December update today. Nothing special in release notes, the usual bug fixes speedups improvements, security. I did try new Bixby voice https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/bixby/bixby-2-0-46-10-release/ and interface looks much nicer, but it bricked its functionality.. combo of this new update and reverting to old finally restored it's old functions back. Otherwise it kept saying I need to start Bixby voice in apps.
Anyone notice weird samsung internet rendering e.g. this forum? Sometimes I see it render in blocks if I scroll down slowly. Or if I switch to next page it goes blank for a second. V7.4 didn't have that and leaked v9 seems to be a bit better too (faster) - has lower chromium engine v59 vs now v63?. But now I saw they made official v8.2 and I reverted to that. Also disabled adblock fast if it might be the cause but it isn't. I enabled developer menu and tried lower animations to 0.5× but it didn't help either, enabled forced 2d GPU render and also no difference. Cleared phone internal cache by boot and samsung internet cache, still no fix. Any other ideas? I also posted this in play store @samsung internet if they see it. It's a bit annoying, to say the least.
Scary to think that is the stable release when I am still getting a good few bugs on the latest beta released 4-5 days ago.... They don't beta test for long, but downloading anyway lol
Flashed and am busy testing it now, looks like they've added a few more "scene optimiser" scenes to auto photo mode, when taking a pic in direct sunlight it brings up a light icon I've never seen, and I pointed it out of my front window which is a main road and it showed an icon for a road, also shows flowers icon for plants and landscape icon for distance shots Seems like they also improved exposure settings, I pointed it out of my kitchen window at the sun, and it managed to get a fairly evenly exposed shot showing the sun, clouds, blue sky and also the inside of the kitchen around the window was exposed quite well too rather than one being correct and the other either over or under exposed The main bug I was having was "Slide" for reddit app was constantly turning night mode off every few times I opened it
Yeah they mentioned these cam exposure fixes and scene AI algorithms will be Pie exclusive, good that it works as intended. I will hold off until official build. Too lazy to reorganize my current config atm.
I returned to this leaked v9 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...msung-internet-for-android-9-0-01-36-release/ and it's like night and day in responsiveness, will keep this until Samsung gets their crap together.
you should download that stable release and flash in odin , pie is pretty much awesome and really smooth BTW, nice app for recording (and its free as well) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kimcy929.screenrecorder
Finally!!!! I kept checking almost every day, even today.. Now I said ok let me check again and bingo!! https://i.**********/65J91Tx4/Screenshot-20190116-021714-Software-update.jpg
Is there a way to add back edge battery/device maintenance option? For some reason it got removed and not selectable in edge apps anymore.. I do like the dark theme and everything else about Pie. Also brightness at auto doesn't ramp up to the max anymore (even outside) stays where I've set it manually.
Not sure about the edge option, I disable the edge panel EDIT - if you search for "Battery" while in the edge panel selection screen, you can buy one for freeing performance, battery/storage/ram etc The auto brightness seems to be a learning thing now (Adaptive brightness), rather than just fully auto, it learns your own manual adjustments per the environment and tries to remember it, try setting it to full brightness once you are outside each time for a few days and see if it learns that is your usual usage You can reset that usage it has learned too if it starts making mistakes
Well my battery is for the worse now.. -_- before 7hrs easily, now barely 6hrs. I also did a factory reset, here is hopping for better tweaks with February+ update.. Otherwise I will have to downgrade to Oreo.
