Three time's a charm. Next time, they'll successfully burn your house.

October update has been is a big mess for Microsoft.
It is already December and still once again they are pulling the update for the (i don't know i have lost count) time.
I think they should just focus on the 2019 spring update and make sure they don't mess up that release too.

As much as I like taking the piss out of MS. I don't really think its their fault as the same thing is happening in linux.
A few changed instructions and low level changes to CPU function to deal with spectre/meltdown etc have pretty much invalidated 10 years hardware/driver/OS interaction testing.
****** if I want to work as a system engineer right now and carry the can for intel and ARM cheap speed hack that they got away with for years.

That does it, I'm reverting back to RS4. I've been waiting long enough for 'em to fix this poor update.

Seems MS can no longer release "beta" OS's for consumers to troubleshoot for them.

    Time to do it right.

    1809 is alpha, not beta.

Maybe they ought to block their releases to anyone outside the office for a few weeks. Ya know, like... beta testing internally.

If their office was running Linux they wouldn't have such terrible reliability issues.

People have always criticized open source for not being dependable but MS has pretty much single-handedly proven that wrong.

To which Linux distro are you referring?...;) Don't confuse widespread alarmist publicity with widespread problems. I've been running 1809 since the first build--the one that supposedly deleted some files on some computers--and have had nary a problem--not a single deleted file! Remarkable, eh? It's very much like the "vulnerability" panic publicity--great for page hits--but very low on accurate information. What this article says is that if you are running the Morphisec Protector software, the installation of 1809 is *blocked*--the article doesn't say there is anything "unreliable" about the Windows release whatever...! As well, it is Morphisec Protector that is being fixed--not 1809.

"Microsoft recommends users who want to install the October 2018 Update to temporarily uninstall the affected software and then install an updated version of the software once its available. The company also states it’s working with Morphisec and Cisco on fixing the issue."

Translated: the problem is with Morphisec, not Windows, and Microsoft is helping them fix it.

This al comes down to carelessness and poor management because its not done. They call it " October update" yet its almost Christmas. If i showed these kinds of result i would be fired from my job. I guess when you have a monopoly on the market you can treat people how ever you want. I wish there was a way to hold them accountable.
