    Someone made an oopsie with Microsoft's activation server config. :p

    At least this time, the issue doesn't seem to be cause of an update for a change.

    My PC at work gave me this problem yesterday.

    The Activation Troubleshooter told me me something like, "You have a Windows 10 Pro digital license but you are running Windows 10 Pro". It then asked if I wanted to upgrade my OS from Win 10 Pro to Win 10 Pro. I clicked the 'yes', it rebooted, and the problem was fixed.

    .... aaaaand another Windows bug that screws customers usability of their PC. It's becoming pretty regular now that m$ fails on their updates, hasn't it?

    I have Pro here but no message and it shows as pro on the licence screen so hopefully it has been sorted.

    The problem is with the activation servers, not with Windows itself.

    Thanks for the info. Honestly, I still consider it a windows bug in that regard, just not an update issue but normal troubles.

    Had my work PC telling me to activate windows 10. Running windows update fixed it.

    This happened to me yesterday morning. Said I had Win10Pro installed but had a Win10Home license. It was as an activation server issue with MS, and it fixed itself after a few hours.

    FYI, I'm on 1809 with no other issues.
