At that price, that doesn't surprise me. For that little bit extra over the rx580, you get a descent performance increase.

    S!

Seems I get most performance in IL-2 by simply leaving the card on Silent Mode and not touching anything. No UV or OC. Did not even open WattMan. I did leave the 2 files renamed connected to ReLive, no crashing due that. Seems IL-2 hammers the Vega 64 hard as activity is at all times at 99% when playing. The game is in DirectX 11 and nV users report lower GPU usage, some 50-70% while gaming. This related to the nV driver slamming CPU?

It should be release price IMO (But we will come to this soon enough ;))
Now pick some Good FreeSync (i mean Quality one >199€) and You can have great Gaming Rig.

Isn't this an issue with Windows Update overriding drivers?

Possibly, I don't recall updating Windows, but it could have happened in the background so I can't say either way with any certainty.

    Hello! I’m Federico from Italy.
I have an RX Vega 64 stock+EK Waterblock. I currently run it at stock performance level but with around 100W less power, by setting “HBM2 voltage” (it isn’t the real HBM2 voltage, I know) at 860mV, GPU voltage at 960mV and HBM2 at 1100MHz, since I play on 1080P60 ultra (can’t fit a bigger monitor than 24” in my room, long story). In very heavy games my Vega GPU at stock uses 220W (Radeon Overlay, confirmed also with GPU-Z), undervolted “only” 135-145W; 75-90W in Forza Horizon 3 max settings. I can’t go lower with “HBM2 voltage”, or my card crashes immediately or after 10 minutes, depending on the game. Of course that’s only the GPU (since the entire card at stock uses around 300W at the cables). What do you think? Can’t be happier of that card!

Good to know that DirectML isn’t green only.

Also, I’m extremely intrigued by the possibility of 18.12 drivers bringing DSBR...

    ^^ Yup it's Joker Productions :D
He has separate Radeon OS for Testing (so no clutter or leftovers)
Also he is Tweaking Vega with +50% Pow.

    Note:
AC: O is very playable on Vega (even on Ultra, wanna more FPS? just lower AA to Low/Med)
Game still looking Great but you have +10FPS, and there is FreeSync at very affordable prices

If you want OC + UV then You have giantmonkey101

Guys, can someone help me with the problem that's been kicking me in the nuts? I've never encountered this issue before and man, am I confused. Why is ULPS active for my 2nd card? I didn't know about this till my system crashed and I'd had to reset my computer, and after some fiddling around did I realize that my 2nd card's fan wasn't spinning, I'd checked with GPUZ, only then did I see that ULPS was active, looking at my 2nd card, GPUTach showed a single yellow LED and the fan wasn't spinning. GPUZ also did not show 2nd GPU core and mem clocks, no temp readings as well....when I disable CrossFire, the GPUTach on my 2nd card went from yellow to red, and the fan started spinning. I tried the registry edit 'solution' of editing enableULPS from '1' to '0' but that did not work.

The single yellow (green on my card) LED means that the ZeroCore function is active (in a CrossFire system it shuts down the second card to save power, on a single card shuts down most of the GPU at idle, I don’t remember exactly when).
AFAIK if a game supports CrossFire you should see the GPU Tach LEDs on both cards...

I've read that ULPS for CFX setup can be.....well, touch and go. I mean it can lead to crash, game stuttering (saw this myself), the odd thing was, in all my years of doing CF systems, I've never come across ULPS rearing its ugly head till now. I simply down want it, I've tried uninstalling the driver in Safe Mode with DDU, ran it twice for good measure and still this 'CrossFire Enabled. ULPS Active' still shows up in GPUZ...I've written to the Radeon Support team, let's see what they say.

Previously, the 2nd GPU would downclock and stay there, just like the Primary GPU, but now, the 2nd GPU would shut off totally. and GPUZ shows no activity, with fan at '0%'
